Here is the world premiere interview with David Wiggins, President & CEO of Covert Tuning Dynamics. CTD unveiled the 2000rwhp LP2000-2 SVTT at the Pittsburgh Cars & Coffee Hangar event recently. He talks in great detail about what it took to put together what will be the worlds faster Super Veloce having lost 550 pounds of the stock SV and 770 pounds over the LP640 Murcielago.

Actually, these turbos are rated at 1200hp a piece. You are correct, the turbos aren't the only thing powering the car so stay tuned.

He's basically saying that he knows more than the engineers at Lamborghini that he can improve their design. That car has probably got a slower lap time that an original lp670-4 because it can't put that much power into the corners. Also pronounce the freakin' name right! Murcielago has a ch sound in it!

Only a few years ago, people said that about 1000hp cars. They also just said that about 1500hp cars. We now have Venom GT, UGR TT Gallardo etc that routinely to this. There is now even a 1750hp car and all are very driveable. My 1250hp TT Gallardo Superleggera drove very much like stock... I was stunned so I don't think you can make your claim that it won't hook up. Stay tuned.

Actually, the TX mile speed is over 250mph. If it was 5 years ago, I would say you are right. Now the Ford GT has the record at 257.7mph from March 2012. I expect to see this broken again and again.

David the owner of covert tuning said that the 4 wheel drive mainly the front axels are prone to failure when more power is added to the car. Plus the weight savings of having less moving parts

When they first started this project, the first thing they did was remove the front driveline and they gained 25% of the power back and lost about 250lbs. On a dyno the car made 620rwhp after the AWD removal.

If i'm not mistaken, the point of going to 2000hp isn't to improve your 0-60 mph time.. its to improve your 0-200 mph time. In a mile run ,more hp is always welcome. Even if it finally starts to hook at 130mph.

I'm well aware of the X2010 and it's not a race car. It's a theoretical prototype. My point still stands. That being said, I would absolutely love for it to be produced. The entire idea is what I imagine Formula 1 SHOULD be. All-out balls to the wall effort to see how fast you can make A car go around a race track.

True... AWD does make a difference but the Venom is RWD too. I know of a few TT Gallardos that were RWD conversion with over 1200hp. Its all in how the car is engineered. Slapping turbos on and calling it a day makes it unmanageable which is what people did in the past until the big boys came on the block.

No, he just claimed that he wanted it to be a car that he could DD or be versatile enough to occasionally drive on the street. Someone quote me if I'm wrong, but the weight distribution is around 42/58 stock on an SV so loosing 300 pounds from the rwd conversion would effect handling but I doubt he's going to run it at auto crosses so it doesn't really matter.

This is true, but with my experience it has only been when the owners build their engines without taking into account rod and stroke ratios because a long rod engine no matter what level of build will be easier on the cylinder walls and the pistons. You're right for a lot of the general population who build engines and take shortcuts but not all built engines have reliabilty issues.

Actually, it won't. Firstly, it isn't a production car, so that disqualifies it. Secondly, if you read some of the stuff that was posted on their Facebook page, it's only geared for 270 mph at the moment. The only car that has enough 'umph' to reach those kind of speeds is the Transtar Dagger, the non-street legal version. Has a 2700 hp 10.3L V8 Twin Turbo, which sounds ridiculous, but it IS Nelson Racing Engines.

I don't doubt their claim of making 2000rwhp, putting that much power to wheels in doable because the power isn't being distributed to all four wheels. Also, I believe the turbos they used are 94mm ball bearing turbos... those are HUGE, and with their good attention to airflow and getting cold air, 2000rwhp is concievable

I'll agree with you on that. I've seen the videos of UGR's TT Gallardo and you don't need to fight with the car to make it go down the road. Is your TT Gallardo AWD or did you have it converted to RWD? Because it makes a difference in how the car can accelerate.

it's all about being top dog. Everyone is out to 1 up everybody else. Bugatti release a car with 1000hp, SSC come out with 1100hp, Koeniggsegg go for 1180hp etc. AMS release tuning package for GTR resulting in 1500hp. And it can actually handle it!

The intakes are a dumb idea. Moving the filters from the back where it at least has some chance of fresh air and place them directly over the headers. As much as I want to hate on this car because a new video hasn't been posted, any 6.5 liter v12 with two gt42's on it is going to make serious power. Looking forward to an update!

2000 brake horsepower at the rear wheel. Thats taking into account the mechanical friction and loss of power in the flywheel, gearbox, and differential. Basically its a measure of how much BHP the car is putting on the ground through the wheels :)
