Ain’t his songwriting,,which is great at times Ain’t his singing, which is otherworldly unbelievable at times Ain’t his sax, harmonica, guitar or keyboards Ain’t even his coolest-man-on-Earth stage presence. It is his quiet courage. He ain’t arrogant or rude. He just makes his own decisions. Van is courageous.

Glad to find this: I saw this version of 'In the Afternoon' on here ages ago, and lost track of it. It's the most incredible version of that song I know. I was fortunate enough to be taken to see Van in 2001 in Reading, but back then I didn't know how lucky I was. If only I could go back!
