Ur comment has raised a very big question in my mind even i was thinking the same on that time hollywood imagined some things which are invented and are available now, for example hollywood made their own imagined black hole for the movie interstellar and later when the real black hole's image was released it was very similar and there are many topics to be noticed, why do i feel like hollywood is seeing the future and are making movies on future's event

very excellent, i was not expecting such a good explanation...... yet you missed the very center point .. that attempting to describe it directly is fruitless. The plot points of this movie is far less important than the whole overwhelming, surrealistic and poetic experience of movie watching.

Kubrick wanted the monolith to be considered mysterious. If you didn't understand the meaning of the monolith and the ending itself, you succeeded. Kubrick never wanted the audience to understand the 'monolith', because it represents an alien to us, and 'alien' is something unfamiliar, which we can't understand, which may also raise the point that the movie also falls under the hubris of cosmic horror.

That's why i love american people not cause they are fair in complex or cause of advancements in america, i love their thinking, their creativity, their perspective of world, new ideas etc they give a legitimate feel of memorization. But still many people in india say " Our bollywood is best" OR i have heard them being interested in bhojpuri films like don etc, police wala. But they don't understand that no matter how famous in bollywood but thinking of american people will always be higher than us, they are more creative and intelligent than us. Cause they focus of development of man kind, but here in india our politicians are still try to dethrone other ministers, they play games to acquire throne, and they're of very primitive thinking. Here if you see other people opportunists you'll see they have setup of routine, they don't think any thing else about except their own lives, Look what our minister have done to our peoples ,they could have trained them to be creative and intelligent like americans but hamera minsiter ko ladne se fursat mile tab na, unko to bas pehle 10 saal tak ke kharcha paani vasool le tab jaake shayad ham soche ke tarakki ke liye kya karna hai. What a movie! Made in 1968, able to think of evolution in this way followed by artificial intelligence, space exploration, worm hole, etc. Hamara Bollywood ka g*nd fat jayega aisa movie banane me, most bollywood movies couldn't think of sci fi movies like this, and they only obsessed with romantic, item songs, big face, etc. 2001 : A Space Odyssey, this movie really a movie ahead of that time...

Glad to see this comment section is filled with Non-intersteller audience. Most of the indian sci-fi audiences are only aware of Interstellar, Martian and consider these as greatest films however in my opinion the greatest movies have been created in 90s only. 2001 a Space Odyssey, Citizen Kane, Psyco, Lawrance of Arabia, Godfather, Seven Samurai, it's a wonderful life, these are the greatest movies of all time. I'm still living in 90s cinema.

Stanley Kubrick was the Best Filmmaker of the World because he created lots of Masterpiece like this one 2001 a space odyssey is a highly complicated movie but also a extravaganza for cinematography and vfx lover and this movie shows our evolution what we went from.🚀🚀🚀
