The Mariners are a historically terrible team, I haven't researched it but maybe the worst team during their existence? Still my team, back off!!!! I love them no matter what you think.... But we have had Jr an Ichiro, two of the very best to ever play. So okay, the team has mostly sucked but we as fans still have a great history. So back off an eat that. TWO OF THE VERY BEST EVER!!!!!! So don't laugh so hard. I've saw both live many times, maybe the best ever...... Both were something else

I was there! 😎 How time flies! Basically 2 decades ago. Was 21, now am 40 years old. This is a real treat to be able to go back, and watch again. Thanks to the internet. And thanks to MLB! It's almost surreal now, realizing what a truly historic All-Star game this was. Ichiro and Pujols were rookies, Cal Ripken Jr. was finishing out his career, Randy Johnson and Clemens were pitching, Tony Gwynn, Larry Walker, Barry Bonds, Chipper Jones....so many big names. It FELT historic at the time, but it also was so laid back. I remember it was a beautiful summer day, not too hot but just right, absolutely perfect baseball weather, with the slightest ocean breeze blowing refreshing coolness every now and then, and bringing the smell of delicious foods you could buy at the game. ☺ If I had a time machine I'd probably go right back to this game right now. 😄 It was the highlight of the year and one of the coolest things for me in 2001. And probably the best MLB game I ever attended, out of dozens in Seattle from the mid 90's to early 2000's before work, jobs, and commuting relegated me to many years of watching games only on TV here and there. (I've lived about 90 miles north of Seattle most of my life, and still do, so it's a long drive to go to games.) This was a legendary game! Good times, and good memories. 😊

I looked up his highlights on KZbin and discovered all that Now I just look up amazing highlights from years gone by because I'm just respecting the pure talent on display

This was my first full season listening to and watching MLB as an 11 year old. What great stories that season and the most exciting and competitive WS Yankees vs Diamondbacks. Also that season defined by Bond's setting single season Hr record, the 116 win Mariners, and 9-11

I remember Mike Hampton being a good hitter when I was a kid but I didn’t realize just now damn good he was. During his 5 consecutive silver slugger seasons 99 - 03, his triple slash was .283/.321/.434. 12 HR and 47 RBI in 350 official AB. While I get Ohtani has taken it to the next level, this is still amazing offensive production from a pitcher.

At 23:10 only the last few words of the Canadian Anthem is song. For several decades for the MLB All-Star game, just before the Canadian anthem is sung the TV channels always immediately go to commercial break to purposely skip "O Canada". What's the deal for this? TV broadcasters must really hate Canada to always deliberately skip its anthem.

Grady’s Quarantine Adventures! He was hurt a good chunk of that year. Played in 111 games. He only made two all star teams after the year 2000. Pretty much because he was hurt all the time.

Grady’s Quarantine Adventures! I just looked up his 2001 season. His only plate appearances in April were 16 pinch hit at bats, he didn’t play at all in May, and finally started a game on June 15th.
