Good luck. That’s just a 170F on the front. It’s usually the back one, behind the plenum against the firewall that goes bad. Have fun with that one!

does antifreeze leak out when you remove the hoses ands so you hand to refill after..I have pets and don't want antifreeze all over the driveway

Yes, put a bucket or something to catch it. The dollar store has a lot of selections. Less than a gallon will come out.

My temperature gauge doesn't read hot and I know the motor is getting hot I'm pretty sure the thermostats out and because the radiator is not warm but both hoses are blister hot I imagine I'm going to have to do both thermostats

I would only do the main thermostat(in front).. Also these engines need to have air bled out...... The air bleeder is in the center back of engine on top. THAT COULD BE YOUR PROBLEM.... coolant won't circulate correctly if air is in the system. THERMOSTATS usually fail in the open position... So, I kinds doubt it's the thermostat.... air in the line

I just had the radiator, thermostats, engine coolant, done rite so I was driving all nice n good came home then ten minutes later I jump into the vehicle n left for about two minutes n the temperature gage went up, like what is going on with my vehicle, can someone suggest what I should do next???

Air pocket. Is the coolant still up? Air needs to be bled out of the system

In my pathfinder, I was having warming up problems. When I pulled the main thermostat in front, it was partially open. So I knew the problem thermostat. Good thing, because that back one looks to be quite tough to get at.

The r50 3.5 was rated as a top 5 worldwide production engine every year it was produced. 267,000 on mine. Runs smooth! So smooth I don't know the engine is running sometimes........... The one in front works as the engine Temp. thermostat... Engine temp issues, I would think, would be "only" the primary thermostat in the front of the engine.... The one in the back has to do with AIR/FUEL mix, according to engine temp. It is NOT A COOLING THERMOSTAT....
