@DanielByers-qf9qi
@DanielByers-qf9qi 6 ай бұрын
@@scottcartwright9008 Generally, on their early hits, before Brian withdrew from touring and started using drugs, Brian wrote the music while Mike wrote the lyrics. From 1961-1966, Wilson-Love credits were almost as frequent among early-60s hits as Goffin-King and Lennon-McCartney. Brian almost always needed a lyricist: Mike Love, Tony Asher, Van Dyke Parks, and others. Brian contributed ideas, but the partner did the main writing. Mike Love considered Tony Asher's lyrics for Good Vibrations mediocre (and they were), and wrote his own, which have stood the test of time.

As a young kid growing up in the sixties was so amazing! For me Elvis was "Movie Elvis", cookie cutter movies and for us it was the Beatles. Rubber Soul came out in 65 and that was a serious change in music. Then in 66 pet Sounds was released and that was OMG! We never saw that coming from the BB's! There was a total new respect for them until in 67 when the Beatles who were inspired by Pet Sounds to make Sergeant Peppers... And as they say, the rest is history..lol Also to be fair Elvis became cool again with his 68 comeback special and no one saw that coming either lol ..

Good Evening! I am currently writing a memoir that is long overdue! Carl asked for privacy and many have said nothing but my story is about sharing his heart and soul more than his talent or musical acumen...we all deserve to hear about the man, the husband, the Dad, the friend and his faith! I could use your help! Please share any comments, opinions and closely held secrets. What was his favorite meal? What made him laugh? What made him proud or ashamed? I would like to peel back the onion skin. Learn what would make us laugh about him. I will keep your confidence. Thank you. 💙HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARL💙 🥳💙🎂😘🥳💙

@@erinmarie99 Whoops! I saw that I forgot Billy after. I grew up about 20 minutes from where Billy did in Hicksville, NY. My older brother met him before he was famous, at a Roller rink where his band the Hassles were playing. I have the same last name as his band just spelled a little differently. My brother showed him his i.d. with our last name!

Several of my Army buddies (71-73) were SoCal guys, with stories of surfing in LA & OC beaches. Saw the Beach Boys (and Joe Walsh!) at Long Beach Arena, New Year's Eve 1973. Drove u there at 75 mph, drove back at 55. Frikkhan Brown.
