I have been listening to this several times a week during my pregnancy. This helped me stay calm, focus on the growing fetuses inside me. My boy girl twins are 4months old and they are completely in love with this. Especially, my daughter falls asleep with this! The one who has composed lyrics, music is brilliant

It is malayalam in the begining and then tamil ? Is this how it was written by Ravi varman or Jayashree has translated it? Both these languages are sooo close to each other and Kerala has its history from Tamilnadu. It would be great if we people be united and respect each other.
@rajaramgmenon15635 жыл бұрын
It is pure Malayalam, written by Irayimman Thampi. The tune might have taken deviations over a period of time. The similarity between Tamil and Malayalam can be attributed to a common origin : the proto-South Indian language. Mercifully, Tamil retains a number of old Dravidian words whereas Malayalis sadly incorporate a lot of Sanskrit. No disrespect to the beautiful language of Sanskrit. Some Malayalam articles contain as much as 73% Sanskrit words most of which are corrupt and funny adaptations (thanks to Kerala's print media, according to a study).
@UKDhanush5 жыл бұрын
@@rajaramgmenon1563 ahh okay! I know it is written by Ravi Varma / Irayimman Thampi and I can speak decent Malayalam too. Still i felt second half (after 6 mins) is more Tamizh. That proto-South Indian language you refer is called Sangam Tamizh or anicent Tamizh..and yes Malayalam has so much of Sanskrit words, yet many Tamizh words you guys use today is of pure form than what we speak today!
@parvatanaya5 жыл бұрын
@@UKDhanush I would agree that the tamil-like malayalam words are more pure and classical proto-Tamil than today's Tamil. Probably the Srilankan Tamils have managed to maintain some of the terms and the diction. It is so pitiable that people in Tamilnadu today can't even understand some of the classical tamil terms like "urakkam" "agam/agathe" "puram/purathe" etc., and even worse, can't pronounce "zha" "nna" "lla" with clarity.
@parvatanaya5 жыл бұрын
@@rajaramgmenon1563 I would think that Malyalam language's beauty comes from the fact that it has taken the good out of both classical languages- Tamil & Sanskrit. Unlike the Dravidian movement in Tamilnadu which killed the Tamil language and made it so non-inclusive. There is nothing wrong in deriving from other languages and cultures and be more inclusive and accommodating.
@teepee4314 жыл бұрын
@@parvatanaya According to Ulluur, Malayalam should be thought of us Tamil's older sister (the SKT coming into Malayalam well after the Sangam period.)
