All those highlights in the opening montage being from one night is crazy. You just don’t see nights like this anymore. The disrespectful blocks, the in-your-face dunks, the crazy finishes in traffic. Plays like that happen far less frequently with the court constantly spread for 3-point shooting. Miss the good old days.

Yup the NBA is turning into a glorified three point contest

A fantastic piece of History this is. You've got AI vs Jordan, the announcement of nba all star weekend being broadcast solely on TNT for the first time, kenny " the jet " smith being himself, a commercial advertisement of a 4 tire replacement for a total of only $129.99, and Ernie Johnson jr. being the same Ernie that he is over 20 years later. Legendary !

Great content bro. This channel is the closest thing to a time machine hoop fans can get. Also love that this episode showed their deal package with TNT.

This makes ESPN (and current Inside The NBA on TNT) seem like utter trash in comparison. Those of us who actually were watching this back then have plenty of good reasons to feel totally disilussioned with the modern league and the narratives/coverage etc.. They used to actually analyze offenses, defenses and detail rosters + gave unapologetic opinions (after having actually done research, not just from casually watching games and filling the air with overly used basketball cliches) more substantively.. And the final bonus, it was actually much more funny! The jokes and comedic insinuations were much more clever and intelligent... They have since dumbed it down for the bottom feeders (the majority of current NBA fans, their ages falling between 6-22.

Mike faced zone and had a problem... this is somethimg to resarch. How good was mike vs the zone and is his age affecting the results soley or is this a weakness that was new and therfore never something he got to work on...
@JCR199212 күн бұрын
He averaged 23 and 20 on one leg at age 38-40. This was in the slowest paced era of all time. He would’ve been deadly if this was his prime. Plus he dealt with zones his whole career. People act like illegal defenses were called every possession.
@esekay364812 күн бұрын
@JCR1992 i never said that....but thw guy clearly says the new zone rules... im only asking the question.

Thanks for posting all of these! Do you have any of the older inside the NBA episodes in the late 80’s and early 90’s from CNN?
