Once filled run it and re check the levels. Lines drain and at operating temp the levels change. Good vid!

Thank you for this video. You have saved me a lot of money. Also, you have to keep the engine running and wait for the transmission to warm up to about 115 degree to refill your transmission fluid. It will definitely take about 6.5 to 7 quarts.

A can of brake clean works really well and is cheaper. Also, personally I like the factory gasket better and you can purchase a pan with a drain plug or a kit to install a drain plug in any pan. BTW, good job brother👍😎

@@adictiveadictive less is better, because you're changing the fluid anyway. Remember, you're only trying to clean the gasket mating surfaces, more than half of the fluid stays in the vehicle anyway, and mixing brake clean with the fluid isn't a good idea. As for cleaning the inside of the pan, it's fine. Wipe out what you can, brake clean evaporates very quickly. 🙂

Great video. I have to contend with changing transmission cooler lines. This was a very helpful video, I learned of of the Check level plug,, I can look for this now. I would prefer to change the tranny fluid cooling lines in warmer weather.. so knowing how to check the level is a plus. In all of my 62 years on earth, lol, I have never messed with transmission related anything. I always took the vehicles to a shop. Now, however, the parts markup, the wait time, the labor costs eat every dollar. Great learning video. So question?? After you removed the fluid level check plug, can you stick that hose into it and pump out the tranny fluid?? If I drop the Transmission fluid pan, I will weld a drain plug into it.

The fluid check plug I believe is not big enough for the hose that I had, butt personally I'd rather remove the pan and drain it that way it's a little messy but more efficient, the drain plug idea is brilliant I don't know why they weren't installed at the factory

Awesome video, can you also access the solenoids in the transmission from here or do you have to remove another part of the transmission. Solenoid 1 I think is bad in mine because the car doesn't shift properly and sometimes just stops moving in traffic

I have 2003 Saturn Vue. And now it wont go in reverse.. I am in tears cuz I take care of my Autistic 2 year old and disabled mom. Dunno what to do about it.. This isnt something I think I could do myself and def cant afford another Tansmission.. not on a car that was only $2611 with tax and tag when I bought it.

You did everything wrong. At least according to GM. But you did it the exact same way i did it. Only difference is i replaced the pan with one with a drain plug so next time it should be less messy.
