2002 AmTran RE The Ride

This is the only AmTran RE I've driven where the engine fans aren't running constanly

I rode on a 2000 Am Tran RE in the 2nd and 3rd grade in the afternoon and i sat in the back seat next to the T444E and that sparked my interest in Diesel trucks. My favorite part of school was riding on the bus.

WOW sounds just like the school buses I rode during my junior high and high school years from late ‘96 till early ‘02. The T444Es were and still are my favorite school bus engines along with the older Navistar V8s. Those were the days I tell ya 😎

I used to drive a International 4700TE weapons hauler and it had the T444E in it. That thing was slow and wouldn’t go over 77 mph but it sure sounded awesome!!

Them 7.3s are known to lack power but they sound pretty!

Love the Navistar T444E Allison 2000 Transmission. Its way better than the 545 Allison transmissions on the 2000 and older models both being Fords 7.3LV8 reformed into a disel engine by International

Richard Brown-Cook and it has converter torque lockup from preventing the gears slipping

this is the inside of the international am tran or IC rear engine i was looking for to see and hear they are more popular than the bluebird all American rear engine school buses I've seen one of those in Galloway Township at route 9 &ocean Ave it's a retired school bus the two owners are going to use it for charters I've wanna ride those buses before they are gone
