This is the trick 100% . I struggled for over 30 minutes trying to get them in. Gave up and found this video on KZbin ….. took 5 minutes and they were both in no problem !!! Thank you for posting this video

I ordered mine off Amazon, that was the cheapest I could find. It’s under Ram trucks but it’s the exact same bushing for those who are wondering

great idea, I've struggled with these in the past and worried about the memory/deformity. Last time I just tossed it in the freezer the night before and it went right in then just let it come back up to ambient temperature to plug in the linkage...

Great video. I also put the grommets in warm water for 30 seconds.

Could you tell me the part number for the linkage? Both my bushing are gone
@sciencemansandera Жыл бұрын
I put mine in a year or two ago using your meathod It worked fine but recently my driveshaft flew off and Musta hit it and busted one of the bushing so I have to do it again. Can you tell me is the rod supposed to just pop through those bushings and that’s it or is it supposed to have a circle clip on the other side or the clip? I couldn’t remember I thought originally they had a cotter pin in a washer, but I might be thinking of something else. Thanks.

I'll look underneath my 99 dodge ram 1500 and inspect the mechanism. The shifter lever knob that moves from 2h to 4h is difficult to move but after toggling it a bit, it does move. What do you think is causing the difficulty? I got this truck a month ago and overall a great truck and well maintained but want to have this shifter knob move easier. When I move from 2h to 4h , I see the light on the instrument panel that 4 wheel drive is engaged. Thanks for any advice.

How long do you keep the hose clamp on for muscle memory??? I'll be doing it tomorrow on dodge ram 1500.
@kingtangofshang6 Жыл бұрын
Shouldn’t take too long. Leave it on for like 5 minutes then pop it right in.

Awesome cheat! Does anyone know where I can get this grommet? I need it for my Dakota.
@richardschaefer98582 жыл бұрын
Napa and Advanced have them for $20 and $16 respectively. The ones that fit my 03 Ram 3500 anyway. They deteriorate every 5 years or so. real pain since you do not know they are gone until you need them.

@@richardschaefer9858 thanks for the info. I hadn’t checked but that seems like one of those parts the parts stores would carry 🤦🏻♂️
@bernardgraf71872 жыл бұрын
most big name auto parts stores keep them in stock now... mine was Dorman #14078.
@SVMSICE2 жыл бұрын
I ordered it off Amazon because that was the cheapest. I took a chance because it said it was for a Ram truck but it fit same size grommet.

Not for me! Im wondering if its all about how new of a product the bushings are from the store. I destroyed a bushing trying to get one on with channel locks. :(

This is a terrible design in my opinion. They needed a better design for this. Mine wasn't easy smh lol
