My parents had a 2004 Honda Odyssey, they got it just before I turned 4 and, when I got my license at 16, the van was my first car. In 2018 they traded it in a used 2015 Toyota Camry, which is a great car, and so was the van. But I grew up with that van.

My grandma has put 500,000 miles on hers and it’s still going. She had a white ex-l fully loaded. She got a 2004 in 05 so she saved quite some money as they had just launched a new model. This is my favorite generation of this car (2nd), followed by the 3rd, 1st, 5th, 4th. I never liked the 4th

What a great van! My mom used to have a 2002 Odyssey like this one but in a gold color. She bought back when it was brand new. We had it until the transmission went out on it in 2012. And one of my best friends has a 2004 model, I was in it the other day and it reminded me of my mom's van! I have fond memories of that van. Now we have a 2012 Subaru Outback. But those Hondas are sure reliable! Love the classic Honda starter in these, they have such a unique sound to them!

I have quite a story to share. Old friends from Florida had a Green 1999 Odyssey Lx with 230,000 miles! They had driven it into the ground! Honda quality is unbeatable! It even survived being parked outside their garage during hurricane Wilma! Honda is the leader in quality and especially ahead of toyota at the moment!

I miss my parents' 2004 Honda Odyssey EX. They bought it brand new in Virginia when I was 15, and it NEVER had a significant problem. The DVD player quit working in 2007 (I just used my laptop after that), but that was the best damn vehicle we ever had! Almost 134K miles on odometer when my dad sold it to his boss and bought a new 2013 Honda Pilot Touring!
@RestrictedAccessCIP10 жыл бұрын
FYI, one of the reasons we traded in our 2000 GMC Safari conversion van for the Odyssey in 2004 was because the A/C in the Safari leaked and never seemed to work well even when charged. Safari had less than 36K miles on it when we got rid of it. Odyssey had over 133K miles on it when we got it rid of it, and the A/C NEVER had to be serviced; always blew COLD! And our Odyssey also had a really kickass factory stereo, with the 6-speaker system and AM/FM dual-media cassette/CD player (CD player only worked intermittently in the last 4 years we owned it though; played iPod through cassette player instead). To anyone looking to buy a 1st-gen Odyssey, I recommend buying a 2003-2004 because these were the least problematic transmissions (1999-2003 had serious issues; 2004 was best; 2005 brought the 2nd redesign), but in general Odysseys of all years are quite possibly the best minivans ever made. They are reliable, cheap to maintain, VERY fun to drive, comfortable for long drives, and can swallow seemingly infinite amounts of cargo! And for teenagers/young adults just getting a license whose parents are giving them that old Odyssey and are less than thrilled about getting a minivan, don't complain! The Odyssey has a great stereo and has room for 7 of your closest friends! Respect the van!

Stamped Octagon Productions Oh shut up, 130k is nothing. I can top that by 100k in my chevy, no problems at all.
@accordwhip34679 жыл бұрын
+***Classified*** I wouldn't tell him to shut up, but then again, I agree with you - my parents bought a 1998 Mercury Villager brand new in '98 and it still runs fine with about 170K miles (which I also know is hardly anything, but more than 130K).
@accordwhip34679 жыл бұрын
I can imagine my Villager easily reaching over 200K, but after that, I don't think my parents are going to keep it anymore. The van is just so old that my parents hardly want to even take it out. It's sad though, mainly because I was born and brought up in that vehicle. I remember, when I was two, I was crying really loud and made a hole in the back of the driver's seat. To this day, that hole still remains. It reminds me SO much of my childhood; this van is easily my favorite car to date. Will never forget this car. I guess all good things come to an end sooner or later.
@helivesonforever9 жыл бұрын
John Appleseed I'd buy it from your parents. Use it as a work van. After you take the seats out, the back works like a pickup truck bed. Plus, it's flat, so you can basically throw a mattress in there and live out of the thing, lol.

Also mine is a very rare EX model with the DVD system and CD/cassette stereo, but with the cloth non-heated seats instead of leather heated seats! Read any 2004 brochure and it will say the DVD player was only available on the EX-L (leather seats) model. We bought ours from a dealer in Northern Virginia and they had at least 3 EX non-leather Odysseys with DVD players and CD/cassette stereo. Have NEVER seen another one optioned like mine since we drove it off the lot in 2004.
