Hey man First of all let me just say how much I appreciate this video that you took so much of your time to make. And I gotta tell you I own an X type and I love it so much. Not for the engine, but everything else. I was looking to send you a private message to ask a few questions because I’m actually in the process of changing my head gasket. I want to get it done once and the right way but it seems to get harder the deeper I get into it. I’m hoping you see this comment soon and be kind enough to reach back. 🙏🏾

Hello Mr. Xtype advocate I love my Xtype as well. I have put so much ti.e and money into it, i dont believe i will ever sell it. Now to your puzzlement. The way the engine is designed in the compartment, it is extremely tight as you know. In order to pull the heads, you MUST remove the timing chain cover. In order to do that, the engine must be removed. I know you want to do a great job, so just be patient and do it right. There is no shortcuts, just time and patience. Thanks you for reaching out. @@vonervanderhall2225 you are very welcome sir just to confirm, are you saying the only way to replace the head gasket is to pull the whole engine out of the bay? i understand that are a very busy man from watching your videos but if you don't mind. Does the engine have to be removed to perform this work? Or is it something that can be done without removing the engine?

Can be done from in engine bay but it’s easier if it’s removed from car. Source I’m a mechanic

Hi there, what I’m saying is that the x type was either a straight four single overhead cam engine or I now realise can be a v 6 petrol as well! So I apologise if that is what this is! I think I thought I was seeing an xk or xj , so sorry If I’ve jumped the gun somewhat! Cheers
