I just knew there was a way you could take that top shield off. Always get a 2nd opinion from mechanics. I had one guy, the only mechanic around my area that would change o2 sensors, telling me that the upstream sensor is only accessible from underneath the car, and he was trying to charge me an ass load of money to do the job. Thank you so much man. God bless you.

Thank you for this video. Because of yours and one other, I did this job successfully on my wife's car for less than $40. in parts.

Thanks for the video, men I was encouraged as a DIYer and did it on my pt, point of correction, you don't have to remove the cover if you have the O2 socket and extension, it will take less than 10 minutes to do the job, might help in clearing P0420 error if you have one.

I LUV how you make it all look so DIY doable. Please continue sharing your talents. You have an absurd amount of patience, and your videos are beyond helpful. ... They're downright EMPOWERING!

When I was a kid I was fascinated by a book called "the way things work" Everything in life is DIY, although I wouldn't recommend performing open heart surgery on the neighbor. It's only the universities and their BS certifications that damn us to believing we can't do things... and possibly our parents. The sky is the limit. Thanks for the comment :)

If you cut the wire off the top of old O2 senor, you should use a regular deep well socket if you have one. It will make it easier to get it out. USE THE SPECIALTY TO TO PUT THE NEW ONE IN.

Dude.... I can tell that you are looking for fame more than knowing what you are doing. You sound frustrated and you are making rookie mistakes (not knowing that the oxygen sensor cable doesn't need to be cut with the proper wrench and calling the ignition coil a "carburetor switch") but it's a good learning experience for me with your fuck ups.... Like not covering the intake air valves! I hope your car still works.

Hi Eric, is the code P0031 Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Heater Circuit Low can fix the problem by replacing the O2 sensor the one you replace? IS O2 bank 1 sensor 1 in pt cruiser same location as where you changed yours in your video?

LOVED YOUR VIDEO,BUT WHAT SIZE VACUUM HOSE DID YOU USE?
@bilzarkz5 жыл бұрын
So I just did this on my 2005. The oil was leaking into the spark plug Wells. Input everything back together. The car starts and runs. It sounds like there's a leak somewhere and if I go over 45mph the engine shakes really bad and tries to quit. When it's idling you can see it pulling the power from my displays and interior lights dimming and brightening. Any ideas on what I need to check? There are no more codes. Just not good power and I can tell there's a leak. I just cannot find it. Thanks

bilzarkz this was done before I watched your video. Just don’t know what I could have messed up. My hose cracked also.
@KevinR19715 жыл бұрын
If your lights are going dim to bright it’s a possibility that your alternator needs replaced.
@jerprime6244 жыл бұрын
What kind of leak? Vacuum leak? Fuel leak? Diming lights could be electrical. Check ground wires too!

It depends on maintenance of the owners. Stay on top of your stuff! I've put 900 dollars into my 01 PT Cruiser in the last 2 months! Because 90% of it was stock!! At 171,000 miles! I felt embarrassed for the previous owners being stupid.

Keep learning:you need it...no disrespect, but teflon tape? wont survive 10 minutes on a hot exhaust manifold, so waste of time, should of used light coat of anti seize!! (never get it on any part other than threads--light coat--no gobs--more is not better!) To any potential "haters" before hand--I have rebuilt these engines (even changing pistons on original rods!) Try that one~! So before posting any hateful or otherwise non-useful comments to this--think again. Thanks. I encourage anyone who has interest in saving some dime to do their own repairs, but not all need to be posted to youtube! thats all..
@wolverinemcstud1945 жыл бұрын
so, if you have the time for all those finger strokes and the know how. why not make the ultimate dyi video for youtube. You've rebuilt "these engines" so many times, you must have the golden key. A cat can be relieved of it's skin many ways, but wich is best if we never show our skills at the trade show.
@KevinR19715 жыл бұрын
I couldn’t figure out why he used the Teflon tape either. I always thought the o2 sensor always had some rtv red on the threads. Since rtv red can stand up to heat.
@2putful4 жыл бұрын
@@KevinR1971 There is no reason for anything as that is 1part of the reason there is a plastic cap to begin with poster shows it ni the beginning seconds of video it is there to protect the threads and the O2 comes from them with anti seize applied to the threads
