Wow I don't mean to sound like a know it all, take carb out then remove cables, you don't need to take manifold off. Your creating a ton of work for yourself.

The little brass seat that the float needle goes into ..... is that removable, or is there anything to that? I've seen videos on other model carbs, where they have a little o-ring at the base, which could cause leaking problems.

hello of what size is the gas fuel jet? and an idle jet?

What does that little skirt in the carb do?

Thanks for this video! I just picked up a very low mile (73 miles total) 2001 XR250R and it will only start when on full choke. Mid-choke and no-choke makes the bike quickly bog and die (even though I turned the idle speed up a bit). Wondering if I need to do a total rebuild, or if I should just just drain the float bowl, put in fresh gas, richen the mixture a bit (per your video), and make sure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped? Any ideas why mid-choke or no-choke causes the bike to immediately bog and die?

Can you do a video on the air filter? I bought a bike and it's missing the air filter and on eBay it shows a cage to hold on the older models air filter dose the 2002 models have this cage?
@timwilson54716 жыл бұрын
Yes it does have a cage. See here :www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/2001/xr250r-a/air-cleaner-a Its part number 4 and 5 that you want. Part #4 is 17214-MN1-670. Part #5 is 17216-KCZ-000 You're welcome!

i am new to this, so this might be a stupid question. where do the hoses go to? or are they just hanging under there? nice vid💪
@lowcountryjeeper7 жыл бұрын
Those lines are drain/vent hoses for the carb. They just hang down.

5000 km , Hard to start ? the exhaust valves are receding . common problem with XR250 1996 onwards with original valves .

Does one of the jets have a really small hole?
@lowcountryjeeper7 жыл бұрын
Both of the Jets should have small holes in them. You should be able to see through the holes on the jets. If not them run a small piece of wire through them.

Hi, why there is no acceleration pump in this carburetor

anybody know how to mount the throttle cables back on and adjust them?
@lowcountryjeeper2 ай бұрын
Should be a built in mounting point on the upper body of the carb near adjuster screw for idle. Other adjustment is on handlebars
@michaeljames13947 жыл бұрын
did you replace that missing carb screw?
@lowcountryjeeper7 жыл бұрын
No, I ended up selling the bike. Moved and could not take it with me. Bike ran great though even with the screw missing.

Mike! Thanks for this awesome video. I recently purchased an 02 XR250 in NC, and have been having some suspected carb issues. I stumble upon your video, crack the seat and low and behold I notice the same exact (and unique) handy work on the tank strap. Wondering if you think this might be the same bike? The plastics are back to stock, as is the exhaust, but the similarity of the tank strap is uncanny. i.imgur.com/SbKyr97.jpg Thanks for this video! This beast is still a bear to start! Hoping some carb love will bring her back to life.
@trevorjameson32137 жыл бұрын
2354csg , the tank straps are made that way, mine is exactly the same way. Honda did that as a safety measure in case the rubber thing breaks the tank will stay in place. Some have a steel band (like in the video) and some have a steel cable.
