Its an easy spark plug job. Shops wsnt to fool you into thinking they gotta remove the manifold but they dont. They just remove the throttle body which is simple. Hi Eric, I'm having problems with my Kia hope you can help. First of all many thanks for the detailed videos they have been very helpful. Unfortunately my Kia is no longer starting and I have no idea what it could be. I started working on the car because a connection for the coolant hoses (back of the engine) was broken and I experienced an unpleasant smell from the engine because the valve cover gaskets were leaking a little bit. So I decided to do all at once including the spark plugs and wires. Once everything was put together the engine won't start and even sometimes backfires whilst trying to start. What I have tried so far: - PCV valve cleaned - Checked ground cables all connected and no oxidation - Disconnect air inlet - Brake cleaner in the air inlet - Verified that air mass sensor looks good / not damaged - Remote control unlock / lock - With a stroboscopic light verified spark plug cables - Battery is charged and new - Gas tank is full - Engine gets fuel - Fuel pump reset - Verified firing order and order of spark plug cables with your guide and Kia official guide - Replaced original spark plug cables - Compression test, all cilinders are between 12 and 13,5 bar - Spark plugs replaced - Placed the old spark plugs back - Verified spark plug gaps (all around 1 mm) - Read out but no faults (not a professional diagnostics computer though) Do you have any ideas what I can do or check? Are there any hidden security features that may require a reset? It's a Kia Sorento 2006, 3.5 V6 Petrol engine

I’m getting P0350 “ignition coil primary/secondary circuit “ and P0300 “Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected “ I have a misfire/ignition control module on order (thing your removing at 12:00) as this seems to be a common sensor to fail, but now with the misfires I’m wondering if the coils or leads might have to replaced. Does anyone know the cause of these codes? I had it in to the mechanic and he blamed E10 and changed the plugs but $600 later I had check engine light on 10sec after leaving. I’m just not positive on leads or coils as it is misfiring on all cylinders. I should also mention when the misfires happens the tacho stops working, as soon as the tacho starts working again the engine runs fine. Seems to work ok on first start in morning but after about 10-15min I get tacho/misfires.. any help appreciated.

@ocesmekanics38315 жыл бұрын
Low fuel pressure usually has to do with a bad fuel pump or bad fuel pressure regulator. The fuel pump is the first to go bad rather than the regulator especially if you let your gas tank more than 1/4 empty before refueling. I will start checking there

@@ocesmekanics3831 put new fuel pump in still nothing should i need to put more fuel in the tank ?
@ocesmekanics38315 жыл бұрын
If a new fuel pump was installed, then you need to install new spark plugs to see if that is the problem. Also check the spark coils to see if they are working properly. They need to be at a certain voltage to function as they are supposed to. Misfire includes a bad spark plug or faulty ignition coil

wow pretty good for sorento. may i ask question. do you think what is the problem with my 03 sorento. it starts 1 click during cold but during warm and after resting for couple of minutes. it doesnt start easily it cranks longer before it starts. thank you for the answer
@ERICSDIYGARAGE7 жыл бұрын
+Felix Ebilane it could be alot of things or it can just be a normal thing. My kia does the same thing i have cleaned the mass air flow sensor and replaced the coolant temperature sensor, changed the spark plugs but i have yet to figure out what the issue is. i have read the when the starter is going out it acts up when its hot so maybe the starter is getting worn out making the car crank longer. sorry i couldn't help much
@yawasap51107 жыл бұрын
Felix Ebilane there is a actuator on the lower half on the intake with the butterfly valve they go bad and make noise and they had a recall to change the butterfly screws which can come lose and rattle down and can can running issue and the crank pulley bolt breaks alot and if the tech cant extract it you will need a short block
@ERICSDIYGARAGE7 жыл бұрын
gearhead gearheadi heard about the crankshaft bolt but not the butterfly bolts thank you for that info 👍

Anyone know if this is the same process for an ‘08? I know it’s a first gen as well but the engines are different. I know mine looks different than this engine. I have the 3.3 liter.
