Wow, you guys have purchased quite a few old Broward County buses. I’ve seen a lot of these buses before, either on the road or parked at different schools. It’s nice to see them again, and to know where they ended up. It would be cool to follow their history, like who purchases them next, what will they be used for, etc.

We bought the ones that ran, and drove them home (about 5 hours).

Why does the bluebird have a Thomas bus steering wheel?

I was just there myself I was questioning it myself

My guess is blue bird steering wheel had something wrong with it and the Thomas one was the only spare they had that bolted on just fine. Some Thomas and blue birds use a similar steering wheel with the same horn button and the only real difference is the emblem and some wiring which in some cases be adapted. That's my logical theory

Blue bird and Thomas gets their steering wheels from the same manufacturer most likely 😊

The same reason it has a Cat engine. It fit.

Opinion on seatbelts
@bgasales Жыл бұрын
Seat belts are great weapons. They don't save many lives. Big buses are safe. They just barrel through an accident. The kids don't get bounced around too bad, usually. Minibuses should have seat belts and the kids should be buckled in! They get bounced around real bad in an accident. My greatest fear is that a bus load of children is going to roll over and land upside down in a ditch full of water. The kids are going to be hanging on their seat belts with their heads under water. Ever try unlatching a seat belt with weight against it? IF the driver is able to cut their seat belt and get loose, how many seat belts of the 70+ children will that driver be able to cut before the rest of the kids have drowned? Or if it lands upside down and catches fire? The first time one of these things happen, parents will be screaming that the seat belts killed their kids. Today, they scream that a child should have to wear a seat belt in a bus because they have to wear one in a car. Common sense... a least-common thing!

Very true I would only do that if it was special needs or preschool or minibuses
