Also the truck had an aftermarket air filter when I bought it, its cone shaped and doesnt have the built-in box to keep it secure, a while after I got it I noticed the air filter had fallen off and I put it back on but it kept falling off, A LOT, ive been looking into replacing it for an original design air filter but I would also need the box and things that go with it. I finally found a temporary solution to keep it from falling off, but honestly I think this is a very reliable vehicle and I just bought 1 that has been thru a LOT OF WEAR AND TEAR, also the gas mileage is not great but the engine and transmission are super reliable

How do you turn on the AWD? How can you tell if it's AWD since the Escalade doesn't have AWD badges to distinguish it from non AWD models?

Something really interesting is that we couldnt get the liftgate open as much we tried, but one day when I started driving to work, the liftgate OPENED ON ITS OWN! I had to pull over and close it and hurry to get to work, since that day I STILL CANNOT open it! 😩

As for mechanical issues, there is a parasitic drain on the battery so I HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY everytime I park the truck, if I leave it connected for a few hours or overnight it ALWAYS drains the battery 100% to the point I cant jump start it and have to take to Autozone and have it charged. It has ruined a couple of batteries this way, luckily 1 was still under warranty

My interior is much different than the Escalade in this video, I only have a 2nd row 60/40 bench seat, no third row, and the backseats I could only get them to fold down a few times to clean the trunk but since then I cant fold them ! The rear passenger window works intermittenly, and the rear passenger controls dont really work either in the middle console or in the front overhead console

Can you show us how to open and close the rear window on the liftgate? I bought my 2003 Escalade used with a BUNCH of cosmetic issues, the liftgate doesnt open at all AND the rear hatch window on the liftgate has always been open and it will NOT latch shut

Does the factory radio controls and CD player work with the aftermarket radio

I'm not sure, I didn't try it. Interesting though how there's the factory CD player and what I'm assuming is a CD player in the aftermarket unit.

@@calscarcorner3526 - Sir, I just bought a 2003 from my sister who only had it for 2 months. I literally just brought it home. Was looking it over amd reading the manuals trying to figure out the Navigation dystem amd realized it needed a CD in order to load software. I have been watching these videos for 2003 Escalades because I knew I was buyingy sisters however no one on anu videos I've watched mentions a cd is needed to operate the Navigation system. Do you have anu idea how I cam get this wothoit paying 200 dollars.

It has a bunch of cosmetic issues, the front windows dont work, the sunroof doesnt work, its missing stereos and a speaker in the trunk, the DVD PLAYER AND DVD SCREENS dont work, and some of them were also taken out prior to me owning it

Transmission and lifter issues on the engine, there’s pros and cons. There are a lot of parts out there so if you can do the work yourself or not have to pay someone full price every time. it’s not too bad.

Its funny how the 6.0 fuel gauge doesnt work not even on my silverado 3500 it wasnt working either not even after installing a new one nothing but headaches ill pass on the 6.0
