Why is it that only 1 injector turned out to be bad if there were 4 injector codes showing? I'm having the exact same codes now, but the problem started with only 208 coming up with 2149. It also only goes into limp mode when I reach 55 mph. Is the first injector in sequence that bad one and it simply throws the others following 2149?

Half of the injectors are supplied power from one driver in the FICM and the other half from the other driver. The voltage is stepped up by the FICM as well. When it sees insufficient current on an injector caused by an open or high resistance in one circuit the FICM shuts down all four injectors for safety. Unfortunately it then sets codes for all four. It could be any one of the four in the group. Since the injectors are ground side controlled a short to ground on a control wire would cause ovefulling in that cylinder.

All 4 pins ohm at .3, should I assume FICM or change the EGR Valve. (Mine is a Cali vacuum pump and EGR valve) Previous codes were P2146 and P0202,3,5&8. Also P0404, and U1096(Lost communication with Instrument Cluster)

@FatStackDuramax check for a possible short to ground on the injector wires as well. Also an injector can fail when it gets hot.

Hello I’m hoping you can help me with my problem. I have a lb7 that is throwing codes p1261 p0201 p0204 p0206 p0207. It does it at random sometimes it’ll do it after a short drive. Sometimes after 50 miles. I took it to a shop and they couldn’t get it to go into limp mode. But they checked the injectors and they checked out ok. I still will check them myself. So the other bank that went out in your video. In your video you used pin 118(power supply) to ohm that side injectors(2,3,5,8). When I check injectors 1,4,6,7 do I check them with pin 118 as well? I’m thinking I should check them with pin 3 in connector c1.

My 2002 lb7 won’t start after they put a grnd to + fix fuses now I tested the long story short tested both pink wires that go to the ficm and shows good voltage, disconnected pasenger side inyector (1,3,5,7) wiring harness and while cranking gives me just 13.xxvolts and you say on a comment you believe the run between 42/48volts so it’s bad? I hook snap on scanner no codes I open the ficm and it doesn’t seem burnt

Yes they run around 48 volts but if the circuit is detected faulty it will shut off the inector supply so what you did wont work. What is the problem and what have you done?

Where can I get the pin configuration diagrams that you used? I have wiring diagrams with wire color codes only. Also where did you get the injector resistance data to see if it they are in specification?

At the injector it's pin 2 that's power and pin 1 switched ground. I believe they run between 42 to 48 volts.

Not sure what you mean by that question. Describe what your testing and tell me what codes you're chasing.

I believe there was a TSB on the LLY for terminal fretting. That's what GM referred to loose connections at the injectors. Are yours plugged in terminals external? If so i would check pin drag and use Deoxit spray followed by Stabilant 22A on the terminals. There was some support retainers for the injector harnesses. Problem could also be at the FICM terminals. Be very cafefull not to spread the terminals in the connector if you go there. .

Hello Phillip, I tested all injectors male side and I'm getting the same read thoughtout, so if @ minute 10:20 of your video, I'm not getting anything out of the ordinary could i assume the issue is not an injector?

@@PhillipBailey thanks for your reply, so first off its an 01 LB7, and about a week ago, a went to put diesel, and when I was heading out of the gas station i lost power and went into limp mode, codes given are the P0202, 0203, 0205, 0207 & P1262, i also have a Trans code U2106

@@JonathonLoz should be codes 202, 203, 205 and 208 not 207. That's a different group of injectors. Carefully compare all the injector resistances and note if one is significantly different. If all the codes reset as soon as it starts but the resistances are the same across the group then the injector driver may have failed. Try moving the wiring while measuring resistances. Could be poor pin grip or connections at the injectors. Has it been worked on before? Tuned?

@@PhillipBailey yes sorry meant 0208, and im not if it has been worked on prior, as far as injectors go, but it is tuned, DSP5, with stock trans tunes. I have checked the continuity like you did in the video, from FICM to Injectors and even checked the passengers side just in case all gave me good reads, I have not checked all grounds as i have only relied on these videos and not sure where all ground connections are, not all pins connected to the harness have been checked, just the injector ones, i suppose i should follow the harnesses to get to the ground correct?

@@JonathonLoz that code indicates a problem in one of the injector control circuits. Both power and ground come from the FICM. I'd reconnect everything start and see if codes return. The problem with ohm testing is the circuit is not under load. It can still fail when it's hot or cold. Are you sure your using the ohm meter correctly and on just ohms? No offense please. If the codes reset when hot you have to recheck when hot. Try a different FICM. Good luck

where did you get the injectors that failed? I am working on an LB7 and was looking at Diesel Logic online, they have a two year warranty however if you used them and got a bent line and a faulty injector 2 months down the road I will look elsewhere.
