Awesome video man, and beautiful ford collection ya got goin there! Pretty sure I have the same problem. Was just wondering if it would be easier to access the door with the blower out? Not sure if it’s open enough to get your hand in from below… Also, did u find the filter restricting air flow at all? Was wondering if the blend door can fully open with the filter in place.

Never took the blower out, but you can try and see if it helps you. No restriction from the filter and yes the door fully opens and closes with the filter in place.

Perfect! My 2004 explorer is still running great, but the air is so bad. The air must have been so clean back when the designer decided to leave out the filter.

Worked on my 2002 Ford Explorer. It was easier for me to get the pin lined up with the filter when the filter was not in the Max AC position. Bought a filter as suggested. Thanks!

Actuator /if you only have heat on one side, that would be your problem

I confirmed the door shaft broke and it was just laying down, i get ac until the engine warms up...any advice?

For a temporary fix and to give you better air flow, simply pull the door out until you can repair it. The AC will still work but it will allow fresh air (outside) to enter.

you helped me find my problem...but for the life of me I just can't feel the cam you speak of....my hand can barely navigate within the space shouldn't I be able to see it with a flashlight? I;m stumped and stuck now

Oh it's a bear to get to it and you have to go by feel just about. Did you take the other items out of the way? It will help access greatly. But there isn't an easy way to get to it (short of pulling dash out), than what I show in my vid. Keep at it, you'll get it!

But when you reach there behind the actuator, out of frame is where you're placing your fingers to locate the cam. is there some diagram out there (I've looked) that would help me see where I'm reaching for? I can't thank you enough for making this video.

Not unless your door has fallen down and is blocking the air flow! Other than that, no it simply adds a filter to the air. Trust me, you need this!

You can take the flap door off completely to ensure you have proper air flow out of your vents. It it falls down, you will have limited airflow. The reason for this door is to have recirculated air which can keep inside cabin temps cooler during summer months. It also helps your defroster work properly.
