Man... thanks so much for this! This is my first motorcycle, and your video made changing out my rear wheel easier than working on a bicycle! For anyone reading this who's having trouble positioning a scissor jack under your frame, try rolling your wheel onto a thick board before you try jacking it up. A board (I used a piece of of 2" by 10") under your tire makes a huge difference in your ability to get the jack positioned under the frame. I used a jack with the two brackets that fit snugly under the frame.

Welcome. Happy I was able to help. I use a motorcycle jack on the rear and then on of those scissor jack to lift the front at the same time. Makes things more stable and can remove both wheels together.

When removing the front brake remember to wedge open the pads....leave wedges in through install

Help took it took the tire off, but it was a pain putting it back on your video shows you 40% of the work on the other side of the tire

How stable is the bike on the jack you used i recently bought an adapter foe a jack that is adjustable to fit the frame rails there is a lot that can be damaged under the bike. D o you use any special adapter to help with clearance and do you strap the bike to the jack if you do could you show where to attach the straps. CHEERS!!!!!

I use the Craftsman aluminum motorcycle jack to lift the rear and a scissor Jack w/ a large pad to rise the front. I don’t lift a up both wheels using one jack.

Good Day bro, i hope you can make a video of how to align and center a motorcycle front wheel, i had crashed my bike a few months ago and i immediately got the forks straightened, the problem is when i install my front wheel the wheel is facing to the left side. My bike is a Honda Shadow VLX 600 i hope you can make a video about it bro i would really do appreciate it thanks.

Wish I could help but I only change motorcycle tires. Only thing I can think that’s wrong with your bike is make sure you have the spacers on the correct sides and/or your forks are not squared up with each other. Or possibly something is bent.

Thank you! Great video. I’m here in Vegas and I’ll tell you what I haven’t been able to find any motorcycle Mech I trust. I have a 67 camaro and a lot of cars I have fun with...just starting to learn about motorcycles.

Nicoke K I don’t trust anyone working on my bike. Another reason I change tires. Don’t even trust them to do that right.

Would really like to see your lifting setup and how you get it stable and not damaging anything under the bike. I too have an 03 vlx and can’t figure it out this far! Great video!!
@cliffcares64554 жыл бұрын
Goat Locker252 I can see about making a video like that. Not sure what bike I would use but for most bikes. It’s pretty much the same. I use the Craftsman aluminum motorcycle jack (or Harbor Freight aluminum motorcycle jack same) to lift the rear. Then I use a manual scissor motorcycle jack for the front. First I lift the rear up and remove the wheel. Then place the manual jack towards the front of the frame. Screw it up till it touches the frame. Then lower the rear jack. Then the frame will pivot on the front jack. Lifting the front wheel up. Hope that helps.

I use what’s called a motorcycle front axle socket. You can also use a 17mm allen. Hope this helps.
