Are you still able to use the steering wheel controls with this Pac? The one i have is the Pac Swi rc but did a bose delete because of the low sound output. Very tedious learning process. The pac swi does not have high side lines. Cool vid!

Yea, the PAC doesn't mess with the steering wheel controls, they still work.

Need some help, i know it’s been a year since you’ve posted but i’m hoping you can remember. I’m wiring this PAC OEM kit into a JVC, all my high level positive wires have a matching wire, all of my low level wires do not though. if i’m understanding correct you didn’t use your white and red low level wire, but what about the rest. do you not need to use any of the low level wires if you are using the high level wires?
@JRsGarage2 жыл бұрын
If you use the high level wires you can disregard the low level wires and visa versa. If I remember correctly there is only one set of negatives that you use with either the high or low positives.

Hey my sound doesn’t work but some did come out of the front left speaker. I tweaked the the pac roem screws for a bit and then when turning on the car again the sound stopped working. Any advice on how to get around this ?

Sounds like something with the line level vs pre amp output. Sorry I can't really help. This video is pretty old and I don't remember any of the specifics on tweaking the interface.

Wha if im not planning to use the bose system can i still use this and then connect the amp with the stereos RCA?'
@JRsGarage9 ай бұрын
If by Bose system you just mean the head unit then yes, that’s exactly what this is meant for. If you mean both the Bose head unit and amp and you plan to use an aftermarket amp then you’d need additional wiring to splice it together.
@lexschrimpf96443 жыл бұрын
so i should just not wire up the wires with the red stripe?
@JRsGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes if I remember correctly the red striped wires are the low side positive wires and you don't need those if you're connecting it to the line level output of the receiver.

Mine is an RCA (from the aftermarket radio). Should I use a wire converter with blue white wire?

@@freniforme sorry, I can't say for sure. You'd have to check with the head unit manufacturer and see if they have a wire connection diagram for Nissan/Infiniti.

If you look a little closer you might notice that's blue electrical tape... They make all sorts of colors, not just black.

Hi! I ordered this same module with the universal harnass because they don't offer the soecific harnass for my car (alfa romeo Giulietta). My car has the stock Bose soundsystem with amp and sub. I only changed the stock headunit and want to keep the Bose amp and speakers. My issue: I first tried connecting the headunit directly to the amp through soeaker level, the sound is overmodulated and volume is unbearable on setting 4 already... Not good. This is caused by the headunit amplifying also into an already amplified signal. Then I went the RCA path, this worked but volume doesn't go very high and there's little to no bass; I really have to give full bass to all speakers to get some bass, although some songs are still sounding very flat and others far too bassy, so I keep tuning up and down, which is a pain. I reckon this has to do with the fact the headunit preouts are outputting 2 volts but the Bose amp expect 4 volts, so the sub also don't get enough power from the amp either. I believe this module corrects this whole issue?? Thus correcting the input voltage to the amp and giving me my bass back / make it far more punchier. How do I connect the radio to the Pac unit? By using the low level radio's preouts or the high level stock speaker wires? Many thanks!
@JRsGarage3 жыл бұрын
You should be able to use either I would try both and see which one sounds the best to you. The line level output will be modulated by the PAC unit to a lower output voltage that your amp should be able to handle you can find tune the output with the little set screws. I believe the set screws will also find tune the output voltage on the pre outside. Try both and see what works.
@portogonzales70273 жыл бұрын
@@JRsGarage Thanks for the reply! I will certainly try both options. However, I've read the low level wires are not meant to be used with the preouts, but are to be used if your headunit outputs not more than 4x25 watts; above that, the high level wires are to be used. So, maybe it's why the preouts aren't working for you because of this reason and is your unit not defective at all. Also saw another YT video in which a guy used both low and high level wires by binding them together; I suspect this won't end well for the unit in the short or long run.

I do not know which preouts to splice into which colored wires on either PAC or HU harness
@JRsGarage3 жыл бұрын
@@snowwhite-xp1gm Let me see if I can help explain this... First make sure you connect the PAC blue/white wire to the amplifier trigger of the Head Unit. This will ensure that the amplifier is turning on when the head unit turns on. 2nd, I would suggest just working with the high level wires of the PAC (so use the black stripe wires for negative and the solid colors for positive). For example on the PAC, white with black stripe is negative for the front left speaker and solid white is positive high level for the front left. Connect both of those to the high level front left outputs of your head unit. Stop there and try turning on the radio and see if you get sound out of the front left speaker. If that works then continue with the rest of the colored high level speaker wires.
@snowwhite-xp1gm3 жыл бұрын
@@JRsGarage Thank you! That worked! Now that I am finished and putting the entire dash unit back together, is it just me or does the Pac and all of the wiring have to fit a certain way in the car for unit to fit. Its a pain in the butt lol

If the Bose amp is dead you’ll probably have to take it out and splice the amp input to the appropriate speaker output to bypass it and use the new head units built in amp.
