I'm doing this job on an lb7 right now. I'm wondering what do you do with all the grit in the grind that falls into the top of the head around your valve assembly? If you look closely at your video you can see some of that debris here and there around the valve springs. I was going to try to vacuum mine out because there's quite a bit that I noticed fell into that area when I pulled the valve covers off. Do you just rinse it down into the crankcase or try to wipe it off and rinse down into the crankcase whatever's left how did you deal with that?

the hardened steel will eat it no problem lol but you can be overly anal and use compressed air or vacum with little attachment

What method do you use to clean the hard lines if you’re planning to re-use them?

You can clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner. Like we use for carburetor/parts. It does theses parts good .

Will never buy a duramax, I'll stick to my Ford 7.3 and 6.0, maintain them properly and they don't give you major problems, so far no head gaskets, oil cooler , injectors or EGR problem, key is proper maintenance people !!!!

hate to break it to ya but no maintenance prevents the 6.0 from lifting a head
