Beautiful bike, I'm Happy to see that Guzzi has a lot of fans in USA. This bike is perfect, the real bike for man. Two cylinders, air cooled, torque, great sound, it dominates the road, on roads of Mountain is fantastic.....this is the bike as I intend.

I forgot to mention, you did a nice job on the machine. I love it.

My V 11 sport was a 2004. I loved that motor. I tried to make it a comfortable all day riding machine. Foot pegs from a Buel Ulysses bolt right on. they lower the foot pegs so that the knees get a break from the cramped riding position for me at least. I removed the clip on’s, drilled holes in the upper triple clamp, and mounted offset Yamaha virago Handlebar purchasing, and I put BMW R 65S handlebars on. Big comfort upgrade. I put on a smoked sport national cycle plexi shield..I bought a Corbin seat, it was the worst seat I Ever survived.. It put my balls to sleep no matter how I sat on the machine. No machine or seat I ever had did that before.I have had experience with Ohllin suspensions. Since I was trying to convert the machine into an all day ride . for at least a couple hours at a time machine. I knew not to go to OHLINS. They are set up for racing speeds. Anything below 80 miles an hour is not very compliant. They say that only the people that can tell if the highway is made of concrete, or if it is made of reinforced concrete, are the people that can tell the difference between full soft, and full hard settings with Ohlins..I mounted one bar end mirror, real voxbell horns from my 1979 Guzzi sp1000.. I regret to say, I was unsuccessful in transforming the machine into a comfortable at least 100 miles a day bike. One particular idiosyncrasy with this machine that I had never experienced with any of my machines, I don’t know if it was the seating position, or the fact that there was no rubber on the foot pegs, or the angle my knee had to maintain to work the levers, but this machine was painful to my knees, and I have never had knee problems ever. . So the seat change, foot peg change, handlebar change, and adding the Plex faring did not civilized the machine. So I ended up selling it and buying a Moto Guzzi norge.. The Norge does not have the speed and power that the V 11 sport has. the compfort of a Norge is like a Gold wing compared to the V 11 sport.But I do love the look of the V 11 sport and I love that motor.I just wish I could ride one all day without needing to go to the emergency room.

Jody Frenak Thank you for your comments. I've only ridden this bike about 65 miles since I made this video, so I've never encountered any of the long distance issues you've mentioned. I bought a Norge the same day I bought the V11, but I've since sold it. I also made some modifications to it as well: www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18286&page=1

I miss my old V11. I've a California Vintage so am not Guzzi-less, but there's space in the garage for another and that other will be a V11. Oh yes, it will be mine.... ;-)

Had an 02 LeMans... 4 and 500mi days. Just finally landed a 2000 Sport because I missed my best bike ever LeMans so much. Recently had a 300mi day. No problem at 73yo. 😂 Cant wait to get rid of the risers and club bars and put the Clipons back on. 😂 Im 5,'8 so that may be the difference. 20 yrs on Guzzis and Ducs. Get down n boogie. !!

Hi can you share some of the rough numbers Bought for and spent ? Thanks
@chamberlin1
@chamberlin1 5 жыл бұрын
LOL I'd rather not think about it haha... But I think I bought the bike in pretty well beat up condition for around $4600. Then probably spent around $10K in parts over the 5 years I owned it. The used Ohlins were $2300 alone, shipped from the Netherlands. Also bought tons of parts that I hoped were good enough for the build but didn't end up using for various reasons. I sold the bike and everything with it a few months ago for only $6500... If you want to read all about it, go here: www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18247-2003-v11-sport-naked-serial-number-one/

G'day mate. Looks like I've discovered this clip too late, but you've done a great job with that machine. I have a 2001 Le Mans, as well as a 1981 Le Mans Mk3, which has K&N pod air filters. That was easily done because it's carburetted as opposed to EFI. What I'm wondering is, when you changed out the air box for the K&Ns on your bike, did you have to take into consideration any air flow sensors or similar, or was it just a straight changeover? Thanks for any info you can provide.

No mass flow sensors on these as far as I remember, so just a new tune via computer. Cheers!

Alex Marrache thank you for the good words! I believe this cowling is the factory Moto Guzzi optional cowling if I remember correctly... It came with the bike when I bought it. But many other parts I ordered from Italy, UK, Netherlands and USA Guzzi parts suppliers.

marcthecherrypicker yea started with just the new crossover pipe (I think Stucci?). Look up the V11 Quat-D muffler... It's quite unique. And rare.... Easier to see it than explain it.

How is the seat removed? I have one in the shop, looks like a badly thought out tarts handbag, mind you the owner is a "washer" not a maintenance / rider guy, but of a bell end if you ask me, all carbon shite 😁
