2003 Zx9r fork seal replacement

Outstanding video… I am rebuilding a set of forks on an 02 ZX9R. These forks too have the wavy oil bypass seal right in the bottom of housing. I can not find anything reference to that part anywhere other than this video and on my bike lol… the seal was pointing up when is disassembled mine?

Hi you said the pipe you used was 1 1/2 inch…but the fork is 46mm in diameter which is 8mm greater than 1 1/2 inch (38mm) ????

yes the pipe is split in half to be able to go around the inner tube

Hi buddy just used your video to replace my fork seals on my zx9r but the problem I'm having is when there is no oil in the forks they go up and down as they should but when I fill them with oil they seem to go down but slowly come back up any ideas

that is normal the forks will go down until they are screwed in to the top part of the cartridge

hi. someone stole my stantion tubes. the chrome parts. would anyone know the lenght and thickness of the chrome tubes only. thanks in advance

the damping rod spins for me on the inside when i try to take out the bottom allen head bolt. any tricks to get it out? im trying to change my seal in a 2000 zx9r e1 model

Use a pair of vicegrips with cloth rag in between to pinch the top

Loosen it before dismantling the forks. Too late for you I know, but might help someone else.

What size pipe is that which you used as a seal driver ?

It's a 1.5 inch pvc pipe cut length ways.... If you can find any pipe that's close to the diameter of your inner stantion use that

Is the same parts order etc in ZXR6 A1P 2002 ?

all bikes are different from year to year check your service manual or check out part fitment with your local motorcycle shop
