If the valve control arm swings down and up loosely when i unhook the cable is that a bad control valve?

Mines just broke cuz of age the little stem where cable sits broke off leak coolant on the catalyst

Yes , if there’s a small crack, your car will run and after a bit it’ll slowly start to over heat and steam/coolant will come out of the crack

@@Lightt47-it could be your fans not working. Your thermostat is faulty. Blown head gasket. A hole in a hose or radiator. Radiator cap. No coolant.
