Thanks for the walk around showing in the wheel wells, etc. I just bought one of these in pieces. Quite the "build your own 4 wheeler set" haha Previous owner didnt want to mess with it. never said but id bet it was because it had some compression issues. Sat for a realllllllly long time. He got it on a trade and claimed the people before him said it had a fuel delivery issue. I havent sorted that out yet but I did get it running, half decently too, on a test tank hanging from the bars. Now to put the rest of it back together. Surprised that starter survived. The amount of cranking lol let some oil set in the cylinders. These kawi engines have a compression release mech built into the cam and I believe that was stuck. When my truck hooked to it running for the extra voltage, and one plug out I got it spinning over fast enough to finally fire on the front cylinder. Had no power though but you could hear the cylinder kicking the engine over faster while on the starter. Eventually it came around and zoomed to life on 1 cylinder. This is 2 days of cranking on that starter for probably an hour haha. After that first fire, put the other plug back in and more cranking this time maybe 5 minutes worth and both cylinders came to life! Pretty smooth sounding engine considering the oil that came out of it... sludgy.

i am not sure what he was doing tbh, make sure you always use the right battery for your quad. i mad that mistake myself. i decided to hook up my brothers higher vold battery to mine. lots of cranks later, i noticed smoke coming from below the seat. i shut the key off, yanked the seat off. apparently, there was an issue and i somehow melted the entire terminal to the battery. bolts and all. it melted the metal like nothing. i am very lucky to a, not have it blow up and have any health issues. and b, there was actually no harm done to the quad (that i know of). i realy realy hope for the best. quads are quite pricey and id hate to see you not be able to fix it.
