2004 Chevy Silverado Ext cab StepSide project. fender and core support swap

Black 2004 Silverado LT Ext Cab StepSide project. Swapped out the driver fender and core support. Took roughly 4 hours and was a PAIN to do without removing the hood. The hood bolts into the fenders as one big assembly so when I unbolted the driver fender, I had to balance it so it wouldn’t drop and knock me out. Not a major change but small steps toward the Big finish. Hope y’all enjoy and if you would do me a favor and like and subscribe to be part of this truck build. Do you align the fender to the door gap then swap out the core support. I just got side swiped in my short bed on christmas and can not get the wrecked side to line up with new fender and good core support think that frame bracket that the core support sits on got knocked up the bumper bolted on fine

Yes, I started with swapping the fender as you can see from the video, and aligned the door to fender gap first. I had to persuade the bracket that the fender bolts up against to move a few mm because it wasn’t giving me a consistent gap between the door and fender. Once the fender and door gap look good, I went to align the hood to fender gap making sure it’s also straight and consistent. As far as the core support, you should be able to tell of the frame got knocked up depending on how you got hit.

Where did you buy that fender ? I’ve been trying to buy an aftermarket fender but i heard so much horrible reviews about them not fitting good

Fenders are bulky and don’t have much play, you can try loosening the hood bolts and take out the latch and adjust the hood to where you need it.

I thought the whole point of getting to removing the radiator support is to go through step by step, the process. I gain nothing from this video if you do everything in fast forward and don't explain anything. On top of it, everything is filmed from a 10-ft away distance.

That's a ridiculous video, if you want a good rate out of it , do it slowly it's shows on fast forward
