I have a genuine question 😊 What are the umpires there for, if we or anyone makes so much hue and cry of batsman not walking even if he knows he's been dismissed ☹️🙄😊 Why is only walking off considered sportsmanship, and umpires aren't questioned for their worst judgements of not adjudging properly 😊 I mean : If umpires are there, then no one has any right to question the batsman staying at his crease despite knowing he's out, because if honesty & so-called sportsmanship isn't shown by both teams, then it'll ensure clear loss of the victim team. So, umpires have to be the sole responsibility stakeholders for every wicket and such decisions within their purview. I truly understand that we Indians have suffered immeasurable loss of giving away the 2008 Test series to Australia because of their limitless cheating, and it was clear series win for us in case of usual corrected umpiring. But still I won't blame Aussie batsmen there, it was the umpires' huge responsibility to assess every single decision thoroughly, unlike blunders by Bucknor Benson & Oxenford. Hence the DRS since a decade now, but even that has its own chances like the one missed by Afghanistan against Markram in T20WC2024 semifinal on 27th June 2024, just a week ago from now ☹️☺️ In short : The extent of decisions called by the onfield umpire, still holds a lot of weight even in DRS in case of LBWs, and based on above reasons, I feel that umpires are truly responsible for the fair functioning of the game everytime, regardless of batsmen behavior. ☹️☺️ You all readers, tell your thoughts on this ✌️😊

Engrossing series - must be the greatest achievement of all the series the Aussies played in 90's and the Naughties - to beat such a powerful Indian team in those conditions - the intensity during the Gillespie/Martyn partnership was immense. Damien Martyn had an extraordinary series.
@SingNostalgiaWithAmogh4 ай бұрын
A funfact to share here ☺️ As many must have noticed, Yuvraj Singh had opened with Virender Sehwag in this 2nd Test vs Australia in the 2004 Test series. The 1st Test was lost by India, but in the last innings of last 4th Test at Wankhede Mumbai where Gautam Gambhir & Dinesh Karthik made their Test debut, the best 2003-04 Australia was bundled out for 93 !!! 🤯🥵 And ofcourse after a rare case of opening in 2nd Test in this 2004 Test series, Yuvraj later became the no.1 matchwinner vs best Australia in 3 knockouts like CT2000QF T20WC007SEMIS & 2011QF !!!! ✌️☺️ 🇮🇳 YUVRAJ : The ANTIDOTE to Australia in knockouts (except 2003), Yuvraj like strongest batsman is someone we've dearly missed since 2015 knockouts till date vs Australia !!!!! ☹️😭😫

No one ever mention that Gilly was the only captain from Aussie to win series in the last 52 years. No body talk about the captain Gilly, Everybody knows what a destructive batsmen he was.
@SingNostalgiaWithAmogh4 ай бұрын
Very true this. World talks only of Ponting due to his glittering 4 icc trophies, 2 World Cups and 2 Champions trophies. But this is certainly one of the most memorable achievement in the history of Border Gavaskar Trophy and overall Tests in India. I think Gilly remains the only wicketkeeper captain to win Test series in India till date, and likewise Ajinkya Rahane remains the only captain to win against stronger Aussie team than 2018, despite the Adelaide horror of 36 allout, except the possible Test series win in 2008 to captain Anil Kumble against damn strong enough Australia. Obviously needless to add, that Gilly is the only batsman to score 3 innings of 50+ runs in 3 different World Cup Finals of 1999 2003 & 2007. Whatta keeper batsman he is in cricket history, especially excellent in ODIs as opener also !!! ✌️☺️

@@srashtars And MS Dhoni was a worse batsman in test.......had it not been for his keeping he would have been thrown out of the test side because he was not a good test captain either....... In ODI though his record is good both as batsman and captain...... Unfortunately we never got an Adam Gilchrist or a Kumar Sangakara in test cricket......who could keep wickets and could be used as a proper batsman.......

If current Australian team scores 100-0 in a test in India ...it would be a miracle....but it was a common thing for THAT TEAM in those days....

This is why test matches should be played in only few centres in India. Nowadays test match cricket in India does not have the vibe. Play tests only in Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkatta, Mumbai, Indore etc.
