This reminds me of doing my rear differential on my 04 libby. I stuck the new ring gear in the oven for 30 minutes or so. The wife wasn't happy with having car parts in her oven but it slid right on whereas before it wouldn't even start! Freakin science, man!

Your video was pretty good to know how to fix that it really would’ve been nice if you could’ve wrote the numbers down for the bearing on a piece of paper and showed everybody I have two jeep liberty’s it would’ve really been nice to know the actual number of that bearing thank you

How would you look the whole kit up on ebay
@jeffcurrey87656 жыл бұрын
Okay- this is an AC Clutch bearing, available on Amazon for as little as $12.65, here is the Part No. : 35BD219DU or 35BD219DUK.
@230276 жыл бұрын
Jeff Currey yeah unfortunately I don't have the luxury of time to wait for shipping to buy that cheap!
@LinkSquish5 жыл бұрын
He said in the video you could get it online & that he needed it right away so he had to spend more.

I have a 2005 Liberty. Mine is always broken in one way or another. I am getting sick of it.
@230277 жыл бұрын
Yeah unfortunately that is why I decided to sell mine. The most unreliable vehicle I ever owned, gave me nothing but trouble. Disappointing because I loved the thing.

Anyone know if the plate and the outer pulley surface is supposed to be “smooth”?? I’m hearing a rough sound but it goes in and out so I’m not sure if it’s the bearing or the matin surfaces rubbing on each other

I've been battling my girlfriends liberty for two days I'm trying the iron trick right now. Can't seem to get it on there properly to where it spins smoothly.
@230277 жыл бұрын
I left the thing on the iron for a while, don't forget to lube the inside of the bearing and the shaft as well to help er slide right on.

Is my Jeep Liberty the only one with a clutch fan, all the Liberties I see doesn't have one. Mine has both clutch & electric for ac.
@230275 жыл бұрын
Interesting? It could be? I'm curious if it's a factory piece or aftermarket
@mymyitsme3 жыл бұрын
Fitted with tow pack you will have the two fans
@wesmaximus77287 жыл бұрын
Just had this happen and why do these things happen just when winter is here when you dont need the AC (up here in canada eh)
@richardstallwood26667 жыл бұрын
Wes Maximus were did you get the bearing for it ?
@wesmaximus77287 жыл бұрын
Richard Stallwood I haven't done it yet. Nor have I looked for the kit or bearing. It just sucks these days too. Cars years ago you could just disconnect the AC and still drive. Separate belts
@wesmaximus77287 жыл бұрын
Ill add too that mine is far beyond a bearing replacement. I'm getting a whole new unit and wont be driving it until i do as the damn thing could cause a bigger problem it it explodes.
@230277 жыл бұрын
I ended up getting one locally at a bearing shop B&B Bearing they do mostly DC Motors and were surprised when I said it was for a vehicle. Could not get one from any auto parts store but eBay had a lot for cheaper.
@230277 жыл бұрын
I suppose the cold weather is hard on the bearings! NO kidding eh!

fyi, Maybe next time you'll know.. those "little detents" are referred to as "staking the bearing"

Replaced ac bearing on my 06 jeep and found that a bearing for a Ford truck is the one that worked

You screwed up bud... That clutch cover is supposed to have TINY ROUND spacers to prevent the cover from locking up against the pulley. The spacers slide over the threaded portion of the shaft to allow for an air gap when the cover is bolted with the nut. Loosening the nut will only lead to disaster when that nut flies off. With the nut tight there should be measurable air gap of.. .014-.025(factory specs)
@230276 жыл бұрын
Yup! I do remember those spacers and did use them as they were intended for!

Hey im thinking of buying a 3.7L Limited Jeep liberty 150k miles, am I making a bad choice? What are my maintenance issues that'll happen that cost way too much?
@230275 жыл бұрын
Hard to say for me, I had a bad experience with this vehicle and found it unreliable. Some other people might have great things to say though! I think it will come down to history of maintenance and having records to prove it
@donnypsycho5 жыл бұрын
dont do it - nothing but problems
@superman219582 жыл бұрын
Jeep engines only last 150,000 miles, you want to buy one that has already been rebuilt. Transmissin pans leak, I could go on, but … don’t buy one

@230277 жыл бұрын
Yup! This is not a step by step tutorial. There are other videos out there for that. Honestly just takes a little bit of common sense.. You can generically google or youtube videos on how to remove AC pulleys and get the same step by step. In fact that is exactly what I did before this video! Worked for me!

well somehow i got it fixed
