I had a two-door 2000 Mk4. I had problems with it, but I never regretted buying it.

As a golf owner, I don't think he sold enough of the nice features this car has, A/C, lights for glove compartment, the petrol cap can be unlocked from the button located in the central panel behind the hand break, the key icon directly above the drivers electric window switch also opens or locks the boot remotely, inside door panel has an embedded light and reflector, (sure many of us have dropped our keys on getting out of the car) which makes it seamless finding something in a poorly lit area, and whilst the doors on this review sounded a little panny for me, mine has that reassuring thump one gets with a quality, solidly built car that incidentally will almost certainly guarantee 200k if treated respectfully without rusting excessively. Only down sides for me are 1.4l engine not lively enough to carry the shell VW have put this engine into, (but that classic shape is why we buy them again and again no ? Also I would reasonably have expected 15mpg better fuel consumption for a car in it's class, and mine is currently running at 35.4, but disposing of those whinges a lovely car to own, and cheap to insure. Just my opinion.

I personally prefer the sound of the doors closing in this video, as long as they have the solid thunk in the sound as well. In South Africa where I come from The doors sound like the doors in this video except for the Golf 7 which I think sounds a bit weird and I personally like the 1.6 litre engine with the manual gearbox and the cars here are all right-hand drive like in the Uk.

Here in the States we never received the 1.4L engine; 1.8 turbo, 2.0 non-turbo and the V6 were our choices.

Well it kept bleeping because they was no seatbelt on. Those Volkswagens from the early and mid 2000s do that. Even my dads 2006 Audi A6. Would do that to the driver would put they seatbelt on.

For the love of God is every car in America automatic, manuals better
@charlierushworth2126 жыл бұрын
I can't speak for America but certainly in Canada the majority are automatic. Moved here from the UK a while back and it's an entirely different way of driving. Stop sign to stop sign every two houses or so, save for on the highways. It's just easier for the driving style I guess
@CT-Dana5 жыл бұрын
GOrDoN ReMseY "manuals better". No. Not they are not. Keep in mind Americans drive an hour to work, an hour back, drive 2 hours a day, and are always in a good bit of traffic. Manuals would just be inconvenient and for no reason, and the automatics get better mpg. Americans also normally see cars as what they were originally intended to be, just transportation. The only way a manual is better is they are more fun, which is something that doesn't matter and most don't care about.
@krzysztoftritt66305 жыл бұрын
@@CT-Dana "Automatics get better mpg" I hope you're joking. Manual is better because it breaks less, it costs less, it's easier to service, it gets better mpg not the automatic, it is fun. Automatics are also good when it comes to comfort. And this is all good about them.
@Mirda0075 жыл бұрын
Automatic is easier to drive, i drive a manual, just because it feels satisfying to switch gears
