You can look at 1950s & 1960s VW Beetles to see this practice still in use.

Tyler from Hoovie's Garage, a famous car enthusiast's youtube channel has one of these right now. Not in this condition. To my calibrated eye, this truck looks lowered one inch. Yellow is the best color for the car IMO. This car is very cool in yellow and Haley you look great in it. Btw, well explained, you did a bit of homework. Well done. I worked at Chevy Engineering during this era. PS. pretty clear the owner knew what he had and really took care of it.
