The truck races at atlanta from 05-08 were the greatest races of all time. Some of the absolute best finishes ever and door to door racing from flag to flag.

Ok, even though this race is from 2005 & the Cup & Xfinity race broadcasts were shot in 16:9 that year, the broadcast of this race was presented in 4:3 because Speed channel had not yet adapt to 16:9 HD. So this really makes no sense whatsoever. When I said 16:9 races, I didn’t say cropped them into that aspect ratio, I mean post them in 16:9 IF the broadcast was presented in that format, not the other way around.

Overall, what I’m saying is that NASCAR needs to be more consistent with how they upload their old races. If the race was shot in 4:3, then that’s how it should be & not cropped. If it’s presented in 16:9, then that’s how it should be. Now of course under NASCAR’s feed, all of the races from 2004-07 will unfortunately be in 4:3 (2005 Daytona 500 being the exemption), but again, I feel like there needs to be more consistency on how you upload these races.

@Brett Barker 2005 was when HD became full-time (Cup & Xfinity only at the time). NASCAR races in 16:9 were introduced in 2003 when Fox sports had a widescreen channel feed back in the day. 2003 NASCAR races in 16:9 were only use for the Fox season while NBC/TNT kept their 4:3 aspect ratio that same year. 2004 was when all the NASCAR races were shot in 16:9, but only 2 Cup races were shot in HD that year (Daytona 500 & the fall Richmond race). Speed channel wouldn’t transitioned to 16:9 HD until 2008. So basically the Trucks series races weren’t available in 16:9 HD until 2008 pretty much.
