This is something I've wanted to do for a while - A retro downhill/freeride bike. Introducing my 2005 Cove G Spot FR. An insance bike weighing in at almost 18kg, 26" wheels and 150mm of travel. It's a monster.

@MonkeyShred struggling on the forks, thought I had some Manitou Black, but steerer is too short. 140/150mm 1"1/8 with standard 100mm dropouts - but I'm also skint for a bit. 🤦‍♂️

@MonkeyShred
@MonkeyShred 4 ай бұрын
I’m not sure I understand. The fork doesn’t work? There are different companies and bike shops that will rebuild forks but it depends how old it is. You might have to do it yourself with a new seal kit if one is available.

Hello. currently i am working on a 1953 releigh, and i was wondering. Would you recomend the use of boiled linseed oil? Or would you recomend other products to keep the paint orginal, yet shiny. Such as comandant 4 or 7. thank you very much for the video, pleasure to watch
@MonkeyShred
@MonkeyShred 2 ай бұрын
Boiled linseed oil will leave a shiny finish and provide some protection but I can’t say how long it would last. Make sure the frame is nicely clean and polished first.

Well - I have a seal kit for it so we'll see. No point getting rid of it if it can be serviced.

@@MonkeyShred It is still a beauty. I wonder why the braking discs look so small. Given that it is 26 inch wheels, they look like 160 mm, but most likely I am just seeing it wrong and they are 180 mm.

@@GrigoryRechistov small? 😅 it’s got a 200mm front and 180mm rear. Hope M4 calipers.
