2005 Daihatsu Terios 1.3 Tracker manual 4x4 compact Suv k-car. Is this the perfect low budget 4x4?

They have an amazing turning circle; you can park them anywhere. It is nice to have such amazing visibility, no other vehicle has anything like as much. (No annoying parking sensors because you can actually see out) It's width makes it v agile. It has no side airbags though so you can't have a side impact, not that the phenomenal visibility would let you. It's a poor-man's 4x4; Gamekeepers love them because it will go where quadbikes can. I have 2 of these, nec if you live in hilly, wet, english countryside. It's not fuel efficient if you use the heating fan or go over 45mph. But, it will go from Newcastle to Bristol on 46litres of petrol and on motorways. The best use of this vehicle is when everyone else is stuck in snow and you are so light in weight you can get around as if it's summer. It is a low status car (even looks faintly ridiculous head on) so other drivers do their good deed for the day and let you in. If you were in a 4x4 BMW or Audi other drivers would look straight through you. Because of all this, you will get from A to B as quickly as if you were riding a motorcycle. 😉. And that makes you feel the coolest person alive.

it iss actually a permanent 4wd and the button is just for locking the central differential.

We averaged 34mpg on the test drive (50 miles approx)

Crap if over 45 mph with the heating on full blast. V economic in the country at 2.5 revs, i.e. 43-4 mph.
