That's why their segments are now "You got Moss'ed" and highlight catches instead of hits. Probably a slight nudge or bequest from the NFL, given they're scared shitless of what CTE is going to potentially do to them in the courts. They knew for years their product contributed to brain damage in players and hid it consistently to save profits.

This shit is way better than the bullshit the NFL puts out now. The fans actually want big hits and a lot of the defensive players wanna hit big. @@CycloneJackbecause CTE wasn't created until Mike Webster's autopsy by Dr. Bennett Omalu. I still don't know how people back then didn't think getting hit in the head would lead to any problems. Did people not learn anything from boxing?
@TheLocalLt6 ай бұрын
@@ShawnFXit’s not that people didn’t think it would lead to problems, it’s that football was considered a gladiator sport, albeit a more acceptable one than boxing. Boxing became distasteful because it involved intentionally hitting the other person in the head over and over, whereas football was a strategy game where big hits were simply a byproduct, rather than seemingly pointless violence like boxing.

@NateIII1110 жыл бұрын
Man I remember when I use to record the last 10 minutes of Monday Night Countdown just to see Jacked Up! I was in the 6th and 7th grade too lol them was the days... It's interesting because after this 05 season Jacked Up wasn't the same I mean they was changing it around the next season and then the NFL wanted it to go away. Jacked Up never showed a guy getting injured from a hit or a player being penalized for the hit so most of the hits was legal (there was some question marks but almost all of them was Legal, but the peel back blind side blocks would be illegal in today's game). I understand the Concussion issues and Player safety stuff, but the NFL can still make hits today like what is shown in this video it's just the refs are given more freedom than ever before to penalize defenders on questionable hits when in doubt which is why I think they should start reviewing penalize hits during games. Hopefully hits can be celebrated all throughout the National Football League again because it's a physical blue-collar sport that majority of fans enjoy. I don't like the head/neck shots because Football is just a game which means there is more to life than that, but yet if you play Football then that's a risk no matter what rules get change unless the League says it's a 2 hand touch/Flag Football League. So hopefully in the upcoming years teams will run the football more, there will be more quicker games, more low-scoring games (20 points and under OFFENSIVELY not counting Defense or Special Teams scoring) and defenders not hesitating to hit an offensive player because of penalties, fines and possible suspension.
@GoDawgs19919 жыл бұрын
These were the good old days!! I remember looking forward to Monday Night Countdown every week just to watch this segment.
