Chrysler bought Jeep from AMC in 1988. I have an 88 Cherokee with the 4.0. It has 198,000 miles and I drive it daily. They used AMC parts on the Cherokee until 91.

This is my favorite Jeep Wrangler body style from 1997 to 2006. In 2005, a 6-speed manual transmission was added to the Jeep Wrangler line up, which replaced the 5-speed manual. And I believe an Unlimited edition, not a four-door, was added in the same year, but not sure.
@Eevee_1334 жыл бұрын
The longer wheelbase LJ was added in 04. I think it was available in the rubicon and maybe the unlimited

Awesome! I've been waiting for a video of a Jeep Wrangler, thanks Kyle. This is similar to mine, except mine is an '05 SE model. But it has the six speed and it's a soft top. The Rubicon has so many cool features though, I envy it lol, especially the engine since the SE model comes with a 2.4L I4

wow! that jeep looks a lot like mine except mines not a rubi and has full doors. But that is one of the nicest jeeps I've seen

I just wanted to say great tour of the Wrangler- I'd been curious about what one looked like up close, as well as inside, and you showed me that it has back seats, which I didn't know! Definitely nice. :) Oh, and I like your shoes. One question- and you may have answered this in the video, but roughly how much was it selling for there?
@gajda198415 жыл бұрын
I couldn't own that. I'd be tempted to go off road even on the freeway haha! I see they still have the AMC 4L 6. Great engines!

Lucky you, I had to shovel 24" of snow from in front of our cars. The plows aren't too good here. It was so good I actually posted a video on it so people could compare it to December 19, 2009. Which by the way, is also on my channel.

@jackmartin10 05 4.0 will run about 190 hp. But with a Jeep you look at torque. It runs 230 at 3000 rpm so it starts early. This is at the crank so imagine a 15% or so loss from the transmission and transfer case to the wheels. Then when you go to 4lo, it will change the gearing in the transmission increasing the amount of torque to the wheels. It is a beast. I love it

I miss my 06 se Jeep. Same color. Deep burel green with khaki color top. 6 speed was just too tall for the 2.4l engine and 30 inch tires. Still miss it though.
@mattbjrs15 жыл бұрын
@TheGizmo4382 I would agree. I've never had my six speed over 75mph, the wind resistance and high center of gravity can make driving it a little scary above that lol. I don't like where they put reverse on the shifter though, I can't say that I haven't overshot 6th gear coming from 4th and tried putting it into reverse while going 50mph lol. This was my first standard.

Im confused i read from numerous owners and online sites that wranglers dont have locking tailgates/trunks but he clearly had to unlock it. Was this an option or do you have to get installed aftermarket for tj models.

@AnimaliaHolocaust i would imagine about 16-17+ for a lifted tj with a rubicon package and suck low mileage. but i could be well over that price dealers like to jack the price up as much as they can on these because everyone wants one. also depends on what type of lift they are running.
Does anyone know when they stoped the AMC fleet in jeep?

This might have something to do with my lack of experience driving but 4 wheel drive and a manual seems like it'd be really hard to work with and kinda inconvenient.

Has anyone had any problems or known anyone who has had transmission problems with the 05 or 06 models namely with the auto 42RLE? I have a Rubicon 05 with about 115k on it and haven't had any problems yet (bought it with 97k so cant speak for prior owner), but I've heard horror stories.

Too bad you forgot to mention what makes it a rubicon. Dana 44 axles front and rear with air lockers. A nv241 transfer case and bigger flares factory. Oh and you didn't mention the factory Sub in the console. Or that the rucicon has a few more hp. Than a regular 4.0 wrangler because of a different computer and throttle body. What a noob you should've been a hand model instead chode....
