I need instruction on putting the the gear shift pawl back on a 2005 450 rmz and also the gears back on the rod. They used a bunch of rtv and it clogged up the strainer in the bottom of the motor and was putting too much oil on the stator and wasn’t getting fire

The gearing orientation is the same between the 250 and the 450 just different ratios but ill also add a link to a diagram of both the shift drum and forks and how the gear clusters fit the shaft
Hello I am doing the same job on a 2007. The problem with the bike before was there was a seal on the left side that came out and got caught on the crankshaft sprocket. My rebuild kit didn’t come with a seal for that side and the bike ran without it until the timing chain slipped on the seal. Is there a seal there or not??

I'm looking at a 2016 engine rmz same as you and yes there is a seal there

On the crank case or the timing cover? There is an oil seal on the crank case yes.

My son and I bought an 07 rmz250 the other day. Guy told us the kickstart was seized. Of course we knew better but the price was right so we brought it on home. Started tearing it down only to Find a busted rod, bearing, cylinder is shattered, you can imagine I’m sure. Love when you buy a bike, it’s like, let’s make a bet to see who can guess what the seller will lie about to get it gone. Long story short, I’m Looking at what, $700-$800 to put her back in the dirt? Will be splitting the cases today to check for other carnage, such as cracked cases & such! I’m so excited. Anyway, I appreciate your video. I’m not green but I’m no pro either and I’ve never rebuilt a bottom end. Parts are expensive so I want to do it right and I refuse to pay a shop $100 an hour to drag me over the coals. I’ll be doing it all myself. More videos would be great! Not much out there on the rmz250

@@downdirty8543 thank you for the kind words but unfortunately I no longer have the RMZ250 I will have more videos coming out soon on another bike but for the most part the bottom end of a bike is very similar from brand to brand so ill go in depth on my next bottom end video to try and cover anything I think could be helpful thanks again and if you have any questions on your project that you think I could help with feel free to ask ill do my best to answer them.
