I see the T50 but what is the other size you have to use for the bolts? 12 point socket or?

You need a inverted torx bit set

Absolutely yes!! The intake manifold comes off those engines pretty easily and it's accessible. I would say you should give it a shot. Check the condition of your ground strap first!

when i disconnect the power cable under the hood do i still need to unplug the battery?

That should be fine at the underhood connection
