Just used some 12 gauge solid core copper wire to keep ball and socket together, it's held for about a year so far. I'll get it fixed properly in time, that's why your video is in my Watch Later list.

Nice work. I really wish I had the confidence to just jump into any repair. I do my own work on my vehicles if i can and we have a pretty large family. There is always something to do on one of the vehicles. Thanks for posting these. Even though I dont have the makes that you mostly work on I enjoy watching the videos.

Thank you for the compliment I appreciate it what kind of vehicle do you have?
Wasn't this just a bushing problem? This happen to me and I just replace the bushing from the lower shift cable linkage....

Where did you purchase just a bushing?

Where did you buy the bushing? Iam having the same problem.

Doorman 14057 at O'Reilly or AutoZone. $7 and quick install. If it's the outside bushing you have to remove everything he shows on the outside of the vehicle. If it's the inside remove the lower panel like he did. The Bushing kit has two bushings so you can change both ends. The secret to installing the bushing is to use a pick and get all the old bushing out. Also, drop the new bushing in some hot water to make it a bit more pliable prior to install. DO NOT USE ANY LUBRICATION ON THE BUSHING OR CABLE END. Have fun.

My 2006 rendezvous suddenly stopped shifting yesterday. The shift lever moves freely up and down the column without engaging in any gear. Tow truck driver suspected broken cable. Before ordering a new kit what steps should I take to assure this is the issue?
@CoopersAutomotiveRepair2 жыл бұрын
Try looking underneath the shift lever where the cable connects to see if it’s broken. Also need to look at the transmission selector see if the grommet is broken there

How do I remove the headrest on one of these?
@CoopersAutomotiveRepair11 ай бұрын
I’m not sure, but sometimes you just push the button that moves it up and down and you hold it in then the headrest comes out

The critical points of your visual examples that we viewers come to see are not in frame of your camera shot, or, you're blocking the view. So very frustrating. The way you go at tearing away at disassembly is not good advice, on the column under-panel you pryed downward when it prys outward forward, you could have broken off the molded-in clips. Sorry for the negative and critical review, but isn't the whole point of a mechanic filming his work, that we the viewer can see the work, and the mechanic teaches sound advice? Now, thank you, because this is more than most videos available. I do appreciate that we have as much as is usable. You probably noticed your error while editing, so, this is better than nothing, way better. We all learn as we go, so keep on going. On a positive note, your video is well illuminated, focused. sharp and clear, steady with good audio, directions were OK, and way better than most others. I just got so frustrated, but I do thank you. PS - you forgot the interior locking pin. You made a subtle reference, but would have been better to remind the viewer to install it. Thnx

Thank you so much for the review I actually love it and I love the critiquing. I think since I do these videos by myself without help. I should take pictures and insert the pictures of certain areas when I’m not able to zoom in and show the viewers what I’m doing. Thanks again
