This was the last Champ Car race for the Lola chassis and the Ford engine because one year later, the Cosworth engine was no longer badged as a Ford and the Panoz DP01 chassis replaced the Lola.

If Allmendinger had stayed in CART he'd have been an open wheel legend, but he defected to nascar to be an eternal mid level driver, except for his obvious road course talents Such a waste of open wheel talent

Really Sebastian, you gonna send it like this in to a injured man, there im gonna be f1 fia and say penilty for that. I think f1s peniltys are redicoules sometimes but here i would make the call. But yeah ofc its hard racing, and its indycar. I like indy for not giving peniltys so quick, but something in me says that this race should be given the f1 stewards ... I mean he used the other car as a brake, did Drive over the cerb kinda cut the Control. And f1s guidlines say you need to be undercontroll when overtaking, what he wasnt. He just kinda drove into that guy. But ofc idk what indys rules are or guidelines, but thats the reason why i would penilised it. But ofc we kinda love indycar for this but something tells me that it was wrong idk
