Sick car! The C6 Z is a complete monster, I miss mine tremendously! I had Kohle from AH do my head's too, same package as yours.. he's a great guy, bend over backwards help you out. Got the heads done, put 345's on the rear and it'll tear apart 99% of the cars on the road. After having the heads addressed I happily found the rev limiter several times racing crotch rockets (in Mexico obviously)!

The interior on my 08 Z06 2LZ w/Nav, custom seats, custom steering wheel, and custom audio system is actually really nice. The custom steering wheel alone makes a big difference.

I can pull 30mpg at 65mph in my 565whp C6 Z06 Brian Griffin (Indy) tuned perfection. AI 280 heads and lethal Z cam. Drives excellent. Doing headers and off road x pipe soon. Picked them Up today used. Really leaning towards E85 too. Oh that’s on s Mustang Dyno. Be 600 on a dynojet.

It's definitely the valve guides. Look up "GM response to LS7 valve guide issue." A very small number were machined with the wrong tolerance. The valves themselves are not an issue.

Tommy you're totally right! Said the wrong thing, oops! There was actually a lot more than just a small number, it's a pretty big issue if GM had to make a response to it. I know a lot of LS7s that have failed the wiggle test, and that is just in my area. Thanks for watching!

Wow, time flies! I sold the car shortly after this video was published. Still had no issues and ran perfect when I sold it. I heard the car was still running great when I spoke with the new buyer about 2 years ago

Considering 08 C6 base 20k? vs C6 Z06 30k? Base Stingray 51k? I was leaning to this car, but not sure with the issues and the interior. Another option would be a brand new Mustang GT for 27-31k with a warranty. I have a daily driver though already. I just get bored and want a powerful car too. Depreciation is a big factor for me as well.

I sell cars for a living. Mostly high-end exotics, but I can tell you the depreciation on these cars have hit pretty much the bottom. Out of all the cars you mentioned, the C6 Z would be my choice as I have driven all of those mentioned. There is just nothing like the raw power of an LS7.

The thing is, it's more of a specialty car and the owners know it. So a lot of guys try and hold onto them or ask a little over. Just be patient, the right deal will come up. I know from experience!

This is what GM said about the problem... LS7 Valve guide issue summary: • Affects a small, number of '08, 09 ’10 and ’11 Z06’s • GM discovered the condition through our cylinder head warranty data involving a very small percentage of our vehicles. • Through inspection of returned heads, it was determined that a machining error in the valve guide had occurred at our head supplier. • The quality issue has been contained as of Feb 2011 with 100% inspection of all heads. • The most common customer complaint has been excessive valve train noise. However if the condition is not addressed, it could result in engine failure. To date, where this condition has been observed, it has occurred early in the vehicle life. What customers need to know: They should drive and enjoy their vehicles without fear. If their car demonstrates this condition, they are likely to hear unusual valvetrain noise first. If you have a concern regarding this issue on your personal vehicle feel free to contact me through private message on this forum and we will work to assist in resolving your concern. Feel free to contact me through [e-mail] please put attention Evan in the subject. As always, vehicles that have modifications to the powertrain or the calibrations, are no longer covered by GM's warranty. It would be nice if people got the facts straight about this issue before commenting on it. There are countless dozens of videos on KZbin that create the impression that all 28,000 C6 Z06 LS7 engines suffer from this problem, when the reality is that a small fraction of them have it. And while some Car pundits don't believe GM, I think the company has much better data on this issue then some enthusiast commenting on an internet forum or making a KZbin video.

+iliovecaRS hey man! Thanks for subscribing! The valve drop alone wouldn't damage the block, its what comes after the dropped valve. Most guys have catastrophic engine failure once they drop a valve, that's why it's best to get the valves addressed asap!

Dunno how a head would drop... Drop a rod and it's likely you'll damage the block but if you're lucky, it won't..

That’s why I stop watching videos as soon as they say plastic.We get it and we want to watch a video to hear or learn something new every video people say the same then.I like Porsche myself but I like vettes to but you get what you pay for they make the vette so a average working man can afford it.If they start making the interior like the exotics car a working man wouldn’t afford it so stop your crying about the plastics.They give a poor man a fast car plain and simple.Do you want Chevy to make it like an exotic and charge you 2 to 3 hundred grand then most couldn’t afford it.But the new ones has better interior not like an exotic but it will due and they still made it affordable.

msledge47 thanks for feedback! I actually sell exotic cars in Southern California, so I guess my standards are a little higher than most. My videos are geared toward sharing my thoughts and opinions with those who choose to watch them and my opinion on the interior of the vette is that they could do a bit better for spending 80k at the time.

GM did make the interior more luxury like for the C7 and MSRP pretty much stayed the same... GM was just being cheap to save money. People complained and they made changes.
