@@lamar2x230 it was a huge pain! The speakers are mounted and wired in plastic brackets that remove from the door panel. The kicker and tweeters are separate speakers in the bracket. The stock speakers are a weird shape and my replacements did not want to fit flush with the rest of the bracket. I had to kind of “boot leg” screw them in where they weren’t designed to be screwed and then even still they didn’t sit right in the bracket. That said it wasn’t terribly physically difficult, just needed a solder for the back set because the wiring was a little bit different. I got harmony speakers from crutchfield.com and they sound great!

@@lamar2x230 sorry been awhile since I saw the video he explains a lot of it already. My biggest problem was just that my speakers did not fit in that bracket right, but as long as you don’t care how it looked (it’s invisible behind the door) it worked out fine for me in the end. I’m 23 with only modest experience working with cars and was able to do it on my own

I need to replace speakers on a 2000 Blazer 4 door, and was wondering if I have to take any special speaker mounting precautions for the rear doors, due to those doors being slightly smaller and if there could be a problem with the lowering of the window...thanks

Sorry. I am not familiar with the door speakers in a Chevy Blazer. However, I would look up speakers on the site www.rockauto.com. that is where I get most of my auto parts. It should give these size of the speaker.

Do you need to disconnect the battery before you begin?

I did not. But, if you feel better with no power while working inside the doors(with power windows) to keep hands safe from moving parts, you can disconnect the battery.

Go to www.rockauto.com, put in make year model, search for speakers. It should tell you the sizes.

My mom's 06 trailblazer has an aftermarket sony xplod head unit from 2010, but still has the factory speakers, which sound beautiful!

It would be easier to just get vehicle specific speaker adapters. They don't really cost much.

Just crimp some connectors on and make it universal, you can even use the old connector if you pry it off the old speaket

@@jacksonprice9471 @jackson price Nah, that's just extra... I guess this is helpful for those who don't want to spend the extra money, i get it... But It would be easier for some to just go n get vehicle specific speaker adapters. I have done shit like this before, and its either hit or miss or a mess. Better off just getting adapters. Only around $15 more or less. It saves a lot of time. I never had a problem with vehicle specific adapters. I'll just reuse whatever factory seals if possible. My firend has a 2007 Blazer and they have vehicle specific mounting brackets for $19 on Crutchfield. Also. I think if you order speakers off of Crutchfield, they will offer speaker mounting hardware for free. Either way, it's nice this works for you. This would be a headache for me.

BEWARE > What NO ONE TELLS YOU ON HERE or any of the VIDEOS !!! I have watched 3-4 of these videos on how to remove front door panels in 2002 -- 2007. BUT NO ONES Tells Anyone bout the clip at the top corners of the door panels --------WHY-------WHY DON'T No One says anything bout them. Well, Let Me Be the First to say - there is a thin plastic that goes into a metal clip at the top corner of Both FRONT DOORS. Watch cause it will break very easily and then you have to fix it when you break it as I did. BEWARE...

Bruh. Those clips near the mirrors are the worst, have an 08. Break them and you end up with a floppy piece of plastic at the top of the door panels.

If you notice @ 0:26 in the panel you speak of, mine has a screw in it. It was "pre-Macgyvered" before I bought it. I didn't look into why the screw was there.
