Michael Schumacher (Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (Renault) race in qualifying during the weekend of the 2006 French Grand Prix. Schumacher would snatch pole and claim victory in France, while Alonso qualified 3rd and finished in 2nd.

Mid to late eighties and nineties cars were generally better looking. Several of the MP4/x, Jordan 191, FW14/15/16 etc were clean and pretty beautiful.. the 1991 and 92 Ferrari were particularly stunning., the 93 wasn't so great but the 94 was also good.

Love this, James Allen literally scared of the close battle 🤣 Man 2006 was a great season Gutted Schumi didn’t get that 8th Championship 😢 But none the less 2 F1 greats at the top of their game just going for it, it was epic to watch. f1 cars arent even allowed to change tyre pressure now, because pirelli tyres are so shit. You forget how good Bridgestone were, especially compared to pirelli. I cant believe liberty atuck with pirelli who have been awful and this season have delivered tyres that are absolutely shit. let teams pick their tyre manufacturer's again. let pirelli, Bridgestone and michellin offer tyre to whatever team wants them.

i loved this season…although i was really ummming and errinnnng when massa was under second ferrari and he was trifling, but then came though with some amazing victories but…alonso and michael..insane..definite two titans of this year. comments here say they were equal…to me? no..but close???…yeah….but schumi was still the supreme driver..and it was good to see that ferrari come back from 05..and take the challenge to renault
