Absolute madness!! Those fufs and nosepicks on the tiny backing rails with 10-15 foot drops, and especially Morgan Wade's HUGE 720 as well as his attempts at the whip to ice pick on the 8 foot rail or whatever. Some of the good days of bmx for sure!

Man, the nostalgia hit hard watching this. I stayed in Van for a few weeks for metro and just riding in general and wasn't planning on riding in the contest, but folks told me to sign up just for the fun of it and I was so glad I got to ride around and do random tech things and place top 15 or something in am. Riding with every one that was visiting at all the Van parks was amazing, and such a high point in my life of riding bikes. Thanks for uploading it, Dave!

Why is this more fun to watch that what's being done today??? It's as if I'm more impressed by effort with technical tricks versus watching flip variations.

You can feel how much heavier the bikes were, don't know if that made them better riders or if today having such stripped down bikes makes the tricks so lame.

Some rare footage of bohan in there. Did AJ Anaya get knocked out from that front flip? Did he ever land it?
@MavroCam7 ай бұрын
Yes, AJ was definitely KO'd, it was a scary one, but nded up walking away eventually. And no, he wasn't able to try it again.

This really was a high point for bmx. Masses of variety, none of the 2mph 20cm ledge tricks and less of the stupid multiple bar spin multiple whip stuff, which all looks the same. I suppose on today's bikes you can't go this fast because the back end is 12 inches long 😅
