You might want to consider changing out the oil pressure sensor. That's where the oil leaks almost always come from on those cars. Also check to make sure the wiring harness is not damaged. If it is and oil gets inside, it'll travel all the way back to the dme and give you all kinds of grief. If the wiring harness is compromised and has oil in it, you'll need to get a replacement as it's not really fixable.

Hi. Thanks for the comment. I did replace the oil pressure sensor. I am having an issue with the scanner not connecting and it looks like an issue on the dbus. I disconnected the dme and abs separately and still have the issue. I need to disconnect the power steering pump to rule that out. It might also be the cylindrical dbus connector behind the driver headlight. The cover for the headlamp washer flew off and I never fixed it and when I disconnected that dme plug I had brown water spill out. The other clue is the tone and probe signal drops significantly on the engine side of that plug. It has been driving me nuts for sure. Initially I had a short to ground on the OBDII side of that connector on the purple/white pin for the dbus. I thought for sure it was because the motor mount was pinching the wiring harness. The way they attach that clip that goes into the hole on the body of the car is just by wrapping tape.....so whoever did that obviously didn't care and the mount was pinching it. There is room below it to route the wiring harness without getting pinched. When I took the tape off I did not see any wires damaged which for sure befuddled me.

Scanner can connect to other buses just not the dbus btw.
