Off topic here...but I have been looking for an answer to a past topic you dealt with. That is about putting a locked GM radio from a junk yard into my 2006 Silverado. My question is this. If I take out the radio lock chip from my original GM radio and swap it into the junk yard radio will that solve the lock issue in the new donor radio? Will it recognize the new radio with the information from the old?

It would be better to ask this question as a comment to the other video you are referring to, but the short answer is yes you absolutely can (and should) just swap the EEPROM chips between the original and donor radios to retain any preference settings as well as avoid the VIN lock situation.
