@ I didn’t want to but I couldn’t have 3 cars anymore. I kinda got out-voted by my cousins who i own the house with plus juggling 3 cars with basically a one car garage (one side has a bunch of stuff in it) is tough. I enjoy my BMW 228i coupe but I had to downscale when I decided to go to law school. If I had a crystal ball I’d probably keep both (plus my RAV4) and just get external storage for the 3rd car since my budget was cut down greatly (which was the reason I sold both). That’s life. I’ll prob get a GT-R when i graduate but like I said. I don’t have a crystal ball.

Man that’s a nice set of cars!! black is so tough to keep clean salute to you! I have an 06 6-6 accord. The rare 6 speed sedans, coupes are equally as great! I also picked up an 07 Type S in Alabaster Silver. It is an absolutely jaw dropping design, and the cockpit and driving experience is right on par. Not sure I want to get rid of it, highly desirable and hard to find!! best of luck taking care of your pair

well come to the 3G family, its a bless and a curse of owning a MT TL. I have almost all the 3G TL with different trim/ transmission and option available lol.

truonghthe I appreciate it man! It’s def been a blast to drive. The plan was to keep it for 2 years and then get an M2/M3 or 911 but I enjoy it so much I think I’m gonna keep it. Especially because it’s low mileage and from south CA. Blessings my man.

@@swpdisciple so you must bought the car from a dealer in San Diego. You will gain one thing over the AV6 MT is that TL MT came with LSD. Enjoy man I bought my 1st TL-S since it was a CPO and still have it as of today.

That is in great shape. Keep her well taken care of and she will treat you great. The paint can be corrected. Exhaust mods, intake, and Spherical bushings where the compliance bushings are will make her feel and sound real good.

Mr Logical well the mods will come in spring if I can get the paint and stuff to where I like. The 3.5 isn’t the easiest motor to make additional power with, unless you do forced induction. My main focus will be, new front bumper, paint correction, etc...id def like to do wheels/tires but you’re already talking another $4k with just that. I could immediately do a cold air intake, tint the windows (notice the Accord) and front tower strut brace, suspension too but lemme wrap my mind around the cost of everything first lol.

Fuel cap is a known issues on 07-08s... you’ll have to change your EVAP canister purge valve: acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/130-diy-fix-tighten-fuel-cap-message-915682/

I’ve gotta find someone to race lol. The seat of the pants feel says the TL is faster 0-60 in 5.5 vs 5.8 for the Accord. The TL weighs 3590lbs vs 3290lbs for the Accord.

It definitely is a brand new Civic Type R. Cool cat...he actually sold his electron Blue Pearl TL Type S to buy it a few months ago. We chat all the time.

how does the acura tl drive, and how come you dont use it as a daily driver?

It drives like a stiffer, more powerful Honda Accord with hydraulic steering and a limited slip differential. It’s only weakness is that it’s front wheel drive. I live in western MA where the roads are salted. Plus I have only 79k mi. No good reason to run up the miles just for non-fun purposes. I have a Toyota RAV4 for that. You preserve what should be preserved.

I actually have people asking about both cars but likely won’t sell for another 9 months or so. The mileage is at just under 79k and will likely be similar then. I’ll let you know.

Well my rationale was I wanted a newish sports car/performance car with a manual for $35K but it’s sooo hard to find! I found a built 2013 335 sedan with 47K with many M parts but the guy wouldn’t budge from $28K. There was the 2016/17 Ford Focus RS, the STI, Golf R but those all have reliability problems. You’d think $35-40k was a good budget but when you go down the list you realize it doesn’t buy much. So, I looked “vintage” and took a gamble on a rare, older vehicle to make up for the panache I couldn’t afford. I can say a lot about the car and I’m still discovering/reflecting on it but $14,400 (plus $1200 shipping from CA) is what they go for. Just go to Autotrader. I’d have loved for this to be a southeastern state car like GA or something so I could see it in person, actively negotiate and drive it up but that wasn’t to be. The good news is that the entry point is low so if I’m dissatisfied I can sell it in a year or two and hardly lose any money. I’m gonna work with it for now though. It has potential.

@@swpdisciple hey my brotha, BMW aint reliable either. matter fact the '35' engines are horrible to work on and go through waterpumps every 40k or so. and i hear you loud and clear about manual cars being harder to find.. did you ever think about the civic type R bro? 35k NEW, honda reliability and capable of sticking with ANY of the cars you'd mentioned. i've had my Aspec for 6months now and have done quite a bit and i LOVE the car. go to heeltoeauto.com and endlessrpm. these are 2 of the premier TL performance sites..

Kit Vexed yeah my boy immediately referred me to those sites. That’s my lamentation...I rely on my “cabinet” of close car guy friends and was ostensibly talked out of the CTR due to the looks. Just as I bought the TL (2 weeks ago though it just arrived 8/26/2019) the light bulb 💡 came on and I realized THAT was the car to get...especially looking at my neighbor’s every day. That’s a good lesson on listening to other people over yourself. As for $35K new? They mark them up so $40K out the door is more likely. That was another factor. Did I really want to go up to the edge of my budget for a FWD car...

@@swpdisciple well you made a good choice in car, even with overpaying.. the Honda J35 is a great engine with plenty of torque. it won Ward's 10 best engines in 2006 +2008. do the timing belt, waterpump and valve adjustment every 100k mi and you'll NEVER have a problem!

Jrvic everyone keeps telling me supercharger but then you have to worry about torque steer. I’d say freshen the motor and new motor mounts before mods. Then maybe header/intake/freer flowing exhaust and chip.

There was a 6-speed on the regular TL as well. The TL Type-S was close ratio though. I miss that car.
