2007 Audi Q7 3.6L Battery removal/installation H9 AGM

This video will guide you through easy battery removal and installation of a new battery, I noticed a weak start one day and literally the next day I was waiting for my wife at a shopping center with radio on for probably 5 minutes and the Q7 died. Called AAA for a jump and you need at least 700CCA to start this monster, they had to use two jumpers to get it going.
Long story short the battery tested bad and had to buy a new one but oh surprise when I found out the battery was under the drivers seat.

You have to code the battery to the vehicle or it’s going to cause problems

Your video is super helpful and amazing..everything is shown very clearly in details. my god! i have to help my mom car...that why i dont like german car..they need to move battery in the hood of the car instead of under the seat..it just dont make sense. i hope german change this! i wont buy german car if battery under seat like this. again thanks for your nice video.

I heard that the computer system on the vehicle needs to be reprogrammed after replacing the battery. Anyone know if that’s true?

Hey CM, ideally you should punch in all the new battery info into the computer, I don’t have the tool to go into the computer system so I did not!! It’s been a year since I changed this battery and have no issues at all. This specific champion battery has been really good and definitely recommend it. You have two options: You can install it yourself and take pictures of all the numbers and find someone who has the tool and knowledge to input all that info into the system eventually. Or call major part stores like pepboys and ask if their installation fee includes coding the battery to your car. I bought this battery from pepboys and has 4 yr warranty and like I said I’m really happy with it. I hope that helps!!

Good question!! It’s been two years now since I replaced the battery and I didn’t program the battery to the Q7. So far it’s been working without any issues. But yes if you have any way to link it to the car would be best. I personally didn’t.

Why didn’t you code the battery to the vehicle?? This is going to cause problems with the alternator, Ecm,and shorten battery life

No tool to go into the system, 1 yr without coding and no problems so far!!

don't forget to remove the key before taking battery out.
