That half cage is cool. Sounded like it was for the seat set ups and to protect his kid in the back. Would you guys see the benefit of doing something like that if a full cage is not in the budget and could a setup like that be used to eventually tie in a full cage and not have to do a bunch of rework to the half cage? Cool truck and cool video!

I could potentially tie into it to convert to a full cage but honestly I’d imagine any fabricator would want a clean slate to work with so I would just remove the subframe, sell it and start fresh

I agree with Matt here about converting to a full cage. That being said, some cage is better than no cage, but a full cage is always going to be more safe/ideal.

What kind of steering wheel does this truck have and how was it mounted to the steering column? Currently building my own prerunner and want to install a racing steering wheel but can't find any adapters that fit 03-07 Silverados.

I don't understand why with all these trucks the front end has to sit higher than the rear? It's just doesn't look right...

It appears to be sitting higher than normal up front because of the incline of the hill and the tires are turned. The suspension on these trucks will force the front end to lift when you turn then at slow speeds. But I’m setup for 40% up travel and 60% down travel currently

When you haul ass through the big bumps, you want a more planted/squatted rear, and you want a higher front end. The rear takes most of the hits and again you want it to stay planted. The front end takes less hits a lightly skips over the bumps.

Ran out of funds🤷🏻‍♂️ not everyone can do a full build all at once. It takes lots of time, patience, and money. And for him wanting to sell it doesn't make much sense to fully cage it. Have the next guy have a clean slate.

It was supposed to get caged and back halted. I had the whole rear sold but the buyer backed out. I had already sold my stock seats and received my PRP’s but didn’t have the 20k to pull the trigger on the cage/back half. Personally I didn’t want to cheap out on a cage. This was the simplest solution to being able to still use my truck.

How is that ass backwards it's a functional dd that can have a good time and get you home. That's enough cage to keep you safe I'm most rollovers. Not everyone has the funds to live your dreams that you yourself can't even live. Talk is cheap
